The wire size guide says that I can run my entire system on the 18AWG wiring through the multiswitch I have with no relays except the flasher. Calculated current draw is 72W @ 12VDC (6A momentary when horn is on) an 45W @ 12VDC (3.75A) nominal with every draw except high beam and horn on (I plan on not using high beam). Rated stranded copper is up to 9A. I will be fused at either 10A or 7.5A. Does that all sound correct? Thanks!
@RunPlayBack

That should be fine. The current draw from the horn is only momentary, so there is very little concern with regards to the "proper" wire gauge for it.

I've pretty much ordered everything you listed on hopes for a same/similar setup. I have the same light switch, relay, & led strips. With the DRL lights of the strip on, the flasher relay does nothing but constantly light. If the DRL isn't on, the flasher works as expected. Not sure what I'm doing different. Do you flashers/turn signals work if the DRL lights of the strips are on?
@RunPlayBack
@RunPlayBack Жыл бұрын
It should work if wired correctly (DRL and blinkers). If DRL is on, and say left blinker is enabled, then the left blinkers should flash amber, when the blinker is disabled, then it should return to DRL mode. You should double check that all connections are solid, and make sure you don't have any shorts (bare wires that are not supposed to be touching), and also make sure that ground/return connections are isolated. GL!

am wondering am going to be buying a Ace X Demon here in Australia, (similar to the Aerial Rider Grizzly) if the same setup here could be done on that bike as well? If so I would be wondering if it would need to be registered for the road, or is it still an e-bike electric bicycle

Hi, not exactly sure what you mean. If you use 48v switches and lights, then there is no need for a DC-DC stepdown. 12v lights and switches are super common and have a wide variety of choices, that is why most folks would prefer to install a DC-DC stepdown, or run a separate external 12v battery.
