RuPaul was AWESOME on SNL. I loved it when he said, « If they ain’t paying your bills, pay them no mind. » Everyone should follow their passion and do what makes them happy.

habbogigi I really love that drag queens reading to children in the public library is a thing. The woman who was my best friend until she moved to Canada with her Canadian husband (now _ex_ husband), and then didn’t come back to California for *16 YEARS!* has a gay son who does Drag Queen reading hour at one of Toronto’s libraries.

Marsh Wetland Since I don’t have children, my information about this phenomenon is from my friend with the gay son, but I’ve since found out it’s a thing at many libraries-at least in large cities. I now live in a small town and it’s definitely not a thing here. I’ve seen no drag queens anywhere in the last couple of years, except when I go visit friends and family in the Bay Area.

@@maryrosekent8223 I googled and read an article how this started in SF. Since Rupaul explained how he sanitized drag into general entertainment, I can kind of understand it. I don't have kids, but if I did I wouldn't want them around exaggerated lacquered female performers unless they were literal clowns. Which they may be. Moot point, since I don't have kids.

More like a combination of things: 1.) The government’s infiltration of AIDS 2.) The fake “War”, on Drugs 3.) Aggressive gentrification All three simultaneously, ruined the grit and fun of NYC. I’m glad I got to experience some of it before NYC turned into an upscale Disneyland.
