Neil was at another level with everything, playing drums, writing lyrics and responding to questions in an interview. All three members are a great example of what one is capable of with intellect and work ethic.

Yeah, I can tell you what was exciting was "In Through the Out Door" and "Fool in the Rain" and then feeling cheated by the tragic death of John Bonham. What I liked best were "London Calling" and Van Halen II. But my first concert was Rush on Moving Pictures.... still my best concert experience.

I think this was during recordings for Moving pictures so their last album would have been Permanent Waves circa 1978, so this is probably late 79 or 80 so yes, likely the Wall( Nov. 79)

Neil Peart has always had an intellectual mind and it was because he was an active reader. He said that when he would be touring, there was alot of dead time so he used that time to read. . Notice his high vocabulary.

I adore every Rush song, every album they ever created... however, my favourite moment in the ENTIRE history of the band is the last few seconds of this interview, when things have dissolved in utter silliness! Geddy staring into the camera, doing some kind of trombone noise as he wobbles his big 70s glasses in front of his nose! Love them, and will miss them SO much!

The best way I can describe the impact Rush had on my musical development, as well as my intellectual development is: Kiss made me want to play bass, but Rush made me want to be GOOD at playing bass. Rush forever..

Very interesting interview. The guys look a little rough here but it seems to me they were tired and working like crazy. Rush was a damn hard working band in their early days, they constantly toured and wrote material. And it shows cause the guys all look healthier and happier now that they've slowed down.

I have this interview on a bootleg rush compilation vhs tape bought at a record convention around 1990. Still have it! This Really brings back memories. And yes,we all said the same thing 29 years ago...Alex is toast!

In the mid 80s I wanted to get a perm to have that cool rock look like Alex's hair. But instead it ended up looking like Bob Ross and I was swearing all the way home

This is probably my favorite interview with these guys ever. To me, Rush was at their technical peak about this time. You can see the lines of experience and hard work on their faces here, before anything cosmetic was done. This was at the time they had nothing more to prove, while critics still disliked them very much. They are so polite, well-versed and human, when they could have been like so many other supergroups during this time frame; arrogant. I miss this band more than I thought I ever would. RIP Neil...

Just so you know, When the interviewer asks who they listen to at home..Neil looks down at his shirt. It's an FM shirt. FM was a very Rushy sounding band from Canada I believe. Direct to Disk is one the albums. Really good 70s stuff.

'Permanent Waves' is my 2nd favourite Rush album after 'Hemispheres'. I think it bridges the gap perfectly between that & 'Moving Pictures', with concise shorter songwriting mixed in with all the elements that made 'Hemispheres' a masterpiece. Vale Neil Peart

D Anderson Rush and The Police will forever be the greatest trio bands of all time. I hate that people only know The Police for ‘Every Breathe’ or ‘Roxanne’. There is so much more to The Police and their musicianship than the human ears can distinguish.

Fanbase without radio airplay, they were told it was impossible, if it's impossible now, said Neil, then do it. And during the 80s, before they went to mtv, did just that.
