the overall atmosphere of this song is sort of magic, especially with headphones, the instruments are somehow different than in the rest of the album, theres a special echo in Geddy's voice on the second half of the song; Neal's toms are way deep, the bass is out of this world and the guitar strumming is evolving; a perfect song to listen on the road while one travels alone in comfortable car with good stereo system.

Maybe, in the song story-line, when he wasn't in New York he didn't feel the sense of possibilities or the wrench of hard realities. So he probably went slightly insane, but when he went to New York he didn't feel insane cause he saw all these new possibilities and he felt that all of it was real...or maybe I'm just looking into it too far.

Neil writes, Getty sings, Alex brings in the emotions. There is an interview with Getty where he expounded on the process some. It is his job to take Neil's words and make them come to life. To make them believable. He must take the lyrics and make them his own. I can not listen to this song and not think about Getty's immeasurable talents! Three musical geniuses, for certain! But the entire Rush enterprise from the stage crew, to the graphic artists who present the album covers and video clips that enhance the live shows are truly unparalleled. Not just in Rock music, but in all of music genres and artistic endeavors. I feel sad for anyone who missed out on this unprecedented group of lifelong friends. When I am feeling sad & lonely, I listen to Rush, when I am happy & exillerated I listen to Rush. Anxious? Rush. Relaxing? Rush... I do hope Alex & Getty follow through soon on a collaboration of some sort. I would even love to see a new "Mockumentory" full of their boundless humor and style. Though I cannot imagine it without the Professor, I count on the old guys to pick it back up without the "New Guy"

Rush, more than any other band I grew up listening to, plays the music that dominates the soundtrack of my life from 13 to 30. First of many consecutive tours ,77 Hemispheres to 91 Roll the Bones, with one exception, 87 Hold your Fire. Super bummed I missed the farewell tour. Even more bummed we've lost one of rocks greatest drummers and lyricists. There will only be one Professor.

The song behind my username on PlayCatan - "cameraeye" - and now my signature username, cameraREDeye. This is it right here. Not trying to brag; I just thought I'd give a little background info about what inspired my current username. This song, along with the fact that I used to be the camera man for my church's youth group back in 2011-2012, which got me to the point where I was running the cameras (yes, there were multiple) for main church services and even a few special events, is the reason I chose the nickname which was originally "cameraeye." The "RED" part came in when I started listening to Red which is a very in-your-face modern Christian rock band, and also the name of my favorite color. Also, a camera can have "red-eye" visual enhancements as well; hence, "cameraREDeye." God bless these guys from Rush who even bothered to write songs like this :D RushLyricsOnScreen Thanks for the video too! :)
