Hello friends,
Some of you have been asking us about Mr Ruskin Bond and if we could go and talk to him. Let me tell you he is 87 years old and I don't think its right to trouble him in these times of COVID19 but I did read his book "Days of Wine and Roses" that I found in our cottage. He gave it to my father-in-law Tom Alter. Its a light, breezy, coffee table kind of book so if you want to know about Mussoorie and how it came to be, grab a copy.
You will find it at Prakash's in Sisters Bazaar.
Just giving a peak into what you can expect from the book in this Video.
You will find fascinating anecdotes and stories and it takes you back to the bygone era. Enjoy.

visited and stayed in landour a number of times over several years around a decade ago...thanks for the warm memories....never met Ruskin Bond but I did see him brefly in the back of a car being driven up to Rokeby as it swung around the corner passing Char Dukan!

Reading session was a change from the usual Char Dukan & forest shots.The little one is growing up to be some kind of a star. Smart guy. Why not include him a little more often. He certainly makes a good picture.

Hey Meha. Ruskin Bond used to visit Cambridge book shop in mussourie once a week and signs his books for you. I am one of the lucky one to have a book signed by him.

What an interesting book on history of British Raj and hill stations. Indian have always been deprived of the other side of it.. Sadly, we've been fed only negative stories of bloodshed and exploitation by them.

I am wondering if any hill station had been developed by rulers other than Britishers. What were the holiday spots in summers for commoners before British. All I find is Kashmir but then its gardens were exclusive for pre-British Royalty.
