Russell Brand is on Adam Hills Last Leg Program in the U.K. and as we see throughout the interview Russell Brand is indeed what he claims as well as being a rather funny and peculiar chap and I mean this in the greatest regards for the bloke who'd probably do well at Visual Arts as well!
I know this was recorded in the U.K. for Channel 4 but I recorded this here in Australia which accounts for my title, no confusion is meant.

It’s funny how actors and the leftist media love to pretend they’re intellects and sophisticated but none of them understand his vocabulary which isn’t that difficult. Anyone time he asked these people a question they always look confused and answer with some odd canned answer.

You're so right about calling them "actors", which they are of course as is anyone who appears on our Tv's. They read off the script they're given and lie to the public like it's going out of fashion.

I swear to god it feels like he studied that character. He portrays alot of similar microexpression and uses his pitch and phrasing similar to Sparrow.. I dunno he must have had some role models when he made his journey of recovery and frankly i wouldnt be suprised if he acknowledged that Jack sparrow is a pretty fun and charesmatic character, but what t f do I know. Maybe it' s just the way he looks, but heck even his sporadic and unpredictable mannerism resemble good ol captain Jack Sparrow.

@avedic

Yes. Yes it was. And it kinda highlights something Russell even pointed out. He said, "Then I realized...this is just something happening in America." I agree. Just watch how the 3 others on MSNBC react throughout the entire segment(it's on youtube). It's SO cringey. It's like they're terrified and genuinely don't know how to even begin conversing with Russell. They're just petrified...but trying SO hard...too hard. As an American.....I find it oddly curious how *_confident_* non-American majority English speaking people are...in relation to the overall general vibe of America. I know America well. I am one. I know tons of others. My media is almost entire Americans relating to me...another American. But....via the information superhighway, I've obviously vastly expanded my cultural understanding and internal vocabulary. Just learning how other people think...and how diverse it all is. It's interesting. I feel like Americans have certain things we kinda do best. But...same goes for every culture. No doubt British and Australian people have all sorts of pathos that I'll only passingly understand. But...one thing those cultures have woven into their social culture....is a certain _kind_ of confidence...that you just do not see in America. We have our own confidence...and I could go on about that for ages. I love and hate so much about it. But...I definitely notice, and value, a certain type of confidence in Brits and Aussies that is unique to them. And it spills over into the humor...the music...all of it. I feel like I'm rambling now......I merely had a thought pop into my head while watching this, and decided...I should type this so others will know of it! And I'm a wee bit stoned atm...but that perfect balance where everything is interesting and all is well. ;P

@@roddo1955 He specifically said he was high as a kite in this interview. Just look at his pupils: pinned, just like heroin causes, which he said he was addicted to in the past. Addiction is not something that you can overcome; it's just something that you can distance yourself from, and it looks like Russel is still close with heroin, at least at the time this interview was filmed.

I know this is old but I just want you to know this is not Australian TV. This is a British show: 'The Last Leg' (as you rightly say). Adam (one of the three regulars and the host of the show) is Australian but this is a show that started with the 2012 (London) Paralympics, it's pretty much a British institution, very few people in Australia have even heard of it (although they do air it- about three seasons late- in Aus on the government funded channel). I'm English/Australian (not by heritage, by the fact that I've moved between them my whole life) so that's how I know these things, I haven't done any research but yeah, love this show but it's not Australian. I actually recognised this just from the background on the thumbnail and I wondered why (before even clicking on it) it was labelled 'Australian'. Edit- I just saw the ABC2 watermark so obviously you saw this on Australian TV and assumed it was Australian. They still reference being in Britain so I don't know how you didn't realise.

It honestly doesn't surprise me that american media seemingly has such a hard time with Russell. If 20 odd years of watching it has taught me anything, it's that american panel shows essentially break down the second a guest challenges their position or worldview, which is sort of Russell's whole schtick. But it also seems like he doesn't really have to say much of anything to fucking bamboozle these people, which I chalk up to a combination of being intimidated by his intelligence/vocabulary and toxic masculinity interfering with how he's visually perceived. Americans have a hard time with attractive people also being loudly intellectual, and Russell has a sort of soft femininity to him that throws a lot of those kinds of people off in a major way

Russel has the same... instability as Michael Jackson. I hope he still has brakess. The difference between good impulsive creative genius and bad impulsive creative genius is often the amount of ruin they leave in their wake.

This is so true! In France tho - if u go to a hotel, you'll find three different channels showing Rugby. A great sport. The Rugby and the Banter is what gives extra social skills to English speaking nations. And not segregating old from young people in pubs. I've made it my business to produce one or two Banterlines every day in my cab. My latest one was: "I'm gonna be late - I'm gonna blame it on the cab driver when I get there" (Professional Dj, she was, one hour late for picking up her own child at the babysitter) I said: "Well I've allways admired Dj:s, I could never pull it off, and In your case especially since your only three apples high" For a Swedish guy I think I did quite well. I got a slight shiver from being offended and the worry that she wouldn't get it. But she said: "Oh no, I'm at least 5 apples high now, aren't I?"
