wittyfox I agree with you 100 percent but instead our tax dollars are used in the technology of robots for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle surveillance and bombings and much more for battle. It’s taken a questionable turn if world peace is even possible with our willingness to fight than to resolve as a whole. I wish it can be made. Your idea for how our world should be is brilliant and everyone could live a fearless life without scrutiny. I’m in a veteran hospital now and the veterans here are terribly wounded from war. I don’t often see them not in pain. It’s frustrating to be here and frustrating to be out of here when I’m able to leave for a short time.

Theres a difference between being lazy and being in a rut ( is that spelled with one or two 'T's? I am one of the hardest workers at my place of employment. But then I get home, and even if I have plenty time, I dont clean the house.......cos Im depressed and its all a bit overwhelming. But if I had to tidy someone elses home Id clean it with vigor. Its an important distinction I think, some ppl prolly think theyre lazy when really they are depressed/in a rut.

That rule of don't talk religion or politics at the table applies for some reason for me when I watch youtube. I cannot stand how every entertainment person that I watch at least, sticks theor opinion into either and that's just accepted as funny. I can't do it is ruining comedy when every single comedy late night show host now has a clear political agenda and is all their shows are anymore. Love brand, just wish he'd stay to stuff like this.

He played misogynistic douchebags in movies and his commentary was always so vile and disrespectful, but looking at him now, he's proof that people can change and that's what we're here for. Ye... I am in bed now.. told my kids I am sorry... doctor said mommy needs to rest because I have just had shoulder surgery... truth is I know I am depressed and the longer I stay in this marriage it feels like the heavier the invisible load becomes that it’s feels like I am carrying a slab a cement on my chest. I am in tears... cause mommy is suppose to be the nurturer. Daddy is there. I am dying inside and he doesn’t see. His a pastor... works with people every day helping them, encouraging them. Talks more to the people he works with and loves than he does to his own wife. He doesn’t hit me. Shout at me or anything like that. His a good dad. He loves God. But that’s all I know about him. We have been married for 9 years. When I see him with his people... how he laughs and talks to them. I just get more sad. It looks like anger but it’s not. I just feel so alone. And when he is away I enjoy my babies so much. When he is at home. I don’t want to get out of bed. I am always the one being sent for therapy. Been doing that for over 20 years. I was also drug addict once. Came clean got married to a pastor.. had kids... I worked in the same ministry.. been fired twice.... I am no angel.... I am praying to God to give him someone that will support him and give me a way out. I have no job now... so I bake. Had surgery do I can’t bake for 6 weeks. He goes off to work, kids go to school.... and I am stuck in my head.... I pray... God I pray.... I fucked up a few times in the last 10 years.... but managed to quickly get back up.... I can’t seem to get back up this time. I am crying... not for me..., but I am afraid I damage my babies.

Steven Gerrard you just happened to leave out the the part that you play football, your a star... well not to me anyway... I don’t watch football... only when I have to... and you have a gorgeous family.... and probably fucken loaded. Yip, I do believe depression like drugs or alcohol or any mental health issue is not particularly concerned with who and what you are or what you have. But one thing is for sure.... you my friend have a secret. You get to train... you can work out all your frustrations in the gym.... on the road... running... sweating.... there where no one sees you.... you run till you can’t run anymore and then you just scream... well for you it would be shout... being male and all. Ye this feels kinda awkward because I thought I would try and figure out a way to message you... not stalk you.... you safe... my husband would not be pleased. You going to have to send me a friend request; Tamarind Victoria Loock. There are two pages. Don’t send it to the one where I am wearing a blue shirt, smiling like some Celtic queen. It’s my page but I can’t get in it... don’t ask! The other page has some writing on the back.... also says Tamarind Victoria Loock - warrior bride! 👉 right... love up to your full potential isn’t it? I posted a post on face book at 3 am yesterday morning... who the hell is awake at 3 am in the morning... me... I am.... that’s normally when the truth comes out.. well my truth anyway... my perspective, which apparently somehow is flawed I keep hearing..... I got told to remove it when he got out of bed. Nothing written down there was a lie.... but I get... it’s all about his reputation. I need to respect that. And I will. And I do. I think I just sometimes want to be heard. we slept in separate rooms. Tell me, why does the wife always have to move to the spare room.... I mean I bought the bed in the main room... fuck.... you would think I should get to sleep in it. Noooo.... it’s a Afrikaner South African Male thing!!🤣🤣🤣 oh sleep in which ever bed you like, just leave me alone. It’s now fucken 1 am in the morning. In a couple of hrs the sun will be up.... what happened this weekend can never happen again. I saw my babies take strain. Not fair on them. Oh fuck, I can’t make it go away or like it never happened but I can stand up tomorrow morning, make lunch , dress them and send them off to school. When everyone is gone..., I’ll sit... ill write... I’ll cry... I realized I have suppressed emotions so deep... buried them.... if I unearth them they probably not going to look like their original design... well at this point neither do I. I told you about the part you can look me up on face book. I have messenger there. Technology is not my gifting. Writing is.

It's also important to differentiate between laziness and depression or burnout. Those can often look the same to someone on the outside. There was a time where it looked like I was being lazy but the truth is I felt Dead on the inside and even 3 dirty dishes in the sink felt like a mountain and even the thought of washing them stressed me out and dragged me down, it all just felt POINTLESS, I felt like I was circling the same mountain over and over with no end in sight, like "why am I even here, why should I do these dishes, they'll be back later and every day for the rest of my dreary pointless life...", I felt like this not because I was lazy but because my soul was hurting and I felt like there was no point in doing anything and even waking up and getting ready was an endless painful chore, it's very important to talk to your loved one and make sure it's not that... You have to help your loved one or yourself figure out why those feelings are there and what are the steps you need to take to get out of that dark and lonely place. It feels impossible at the time, especially when you're all alone, and not just physically alone, but in your mind and soul you feel alone and unnoticed even in a room full of people you feel invisible and abandoned and you may not even fully know why... I had no one to notice me, I could have given up, but I didn't and I'm so glad... And now I am happy and whole again. There is hope and a light at the end of the tunnel, if you are reading this and are where I was, just know that there is a way out of that, there is hope as long as you're alive. My full story is too long to put here, but it is on my KZfaq channel for those interested in the details.

What did you find to get you out of that mindset? My issue is that I have everything you mention happening, in and on and off pattern. And when I’m feeling one way, I can’t access the other mindset at all. It’s like living duel personalities... not to mention the feeling of memory loss that comes with it. You forget the positive thoughts you had only just a minute ago it seems. It’s not new, I haven’t figured a way to make it integrate to less degrees of black or white, so I assume it’s just the way it is. It’s been happening for 45 years. So yes, in a nutshell, I feel lazy often. Not in a good way...until I don’t, and then I get as much done as possible!

Torie Beck @Torie- omg, you are exactly where I’m at as far as self realization. That being the first key element, being aware of what my issues are,. It’s just finding someone to help me in a more structured motivational way on how to deal with this. I am presently seeing a therapist through my insurance that is quite nice, but I think she may not be a good fit as far as feeling comfortable with more serious topics. I have brought up 3 serious issues, and she did not asked anything particular about them. Nothing like no response when you drop a bombshell... I do suffer from ptsd. I never considered the complex part, lol, but yes it all is quite complex, lol again... the 3 D’S you mentioned will be my weekend research. I feel dissociative behavior is definitely an issue. I have found the true way to find my issues has always been on my own, except in situations like this. Total strangers have spoken such true words just from something I wrote or replied to. This is an amazing place for people who feel alone in their journey’s. Your reply is so graciously heard and appreciated. It is impossible to surrender your will completely, because paradoxically speaking the will would be the one that is doing the surrending, and that my friends leads us to yet another question in the long line of infinite questions. So if you surrender to everything then you are still not surrendering to surrendering. And so life goes, a slave to the will within, the self being an illusion, albeit a very persistant one.

I like the title of the book "The Myth of Laziness." You weren't lazy, Russell, you were addicted. Believing you are lazy is a form of having low self esteem. If you feel you are not "fulfilling your potential" then that is a construct you've adopted in a driven-to-be-successful culture. I have found that success comes with making a commitment to an interesting and meaningful path, then letting it all happen naturally from there. People always tell me that I am "disciplined" because I am always doing art, writing and pursuing other stimulating careers that bring me happiness. In fact, everything I do is with a sense of its completely intrinsic to my nature. In other words, do ONLY what you love and everything (including the actions you need to take) will come. P.S. I am writing this to remind myself.

Being an early riser doesn't make someone less lazy, and being a late sleeper doesn't make someone a layabout. It's how much effort you put into the time given. When that time starts should be a matter of preference. This bollocks about getting up early is a hollow, old fashioned, and out of date view that causes more bother than good. BTW I'm not having a go at early risers. I get up at 6am every day but that's only becasue that's when I naturally wake up. I don't actually start work until noon. What I'm saying is that it doesn't (or shouldn't) matter when you get up.

The main reason I'm lazy is because it's always been my life's goal. So I feel extremely fulfilled being lazy. For a long time I couldn't be arsed to be lazy, spent lots of time working, and was miserable. I then worked hard on my laziness, have now achieved lazy nirvana, and it is most excellent. I will eventually die a happy man, because I suppose lying in a box or drifting about as ashes must be peak laziness.

Laziness is a 'gift': To snooze away a morning, to stare at the sky, watch and listen to the sparrows flying by. Laze in the sunshine, never asking why? Curled up on a comfy chair or a loved ones bony thigh. snuggled in a duvet, stretched out on the floor, getting fed, then time for bed.......... who could ask for more. MEOW!

It's ok to be lazy sometimes you know. Everything in moderation. People that make us think that they are proactive all the time through editing their social media are as dangerous for our mental and physical image of ourselves as athletes that take performance enhancing drugs and pretend to be natural. Both give us unrealistic expectations. Sometimes the body needs a rest. There's no rule that we need to follow the hustle culture and that can even be bad for us.
@HardestManInTarot

@Karan Well he's not just a freak of nature in the sense that his body is made for the sport but he has dedicated his life to that one specific thing. Not many people will experience or even require that amount of discipline in a lifetime. We can try to learn from him and be inspired. That's probably good enough.

truth brov. if you question whether or not moderation exists in your balance of action/inaction- it probably does and you're likely being hard on yourself for reasons related to those causes/illusions you mention. but for some of us, there is, without a doubt, a consistency of stagnantness that becomes almost habitual. like you know when you mean to respond to a message from someone and then so many weeks pass that you just decide "well, fck it can't do it now can i?" but that's to almost everyone and everything. passing functional depressive here- feeling like r.b. and those of us watching who can relate are doing our best with this life.

Having retired my musical career, at the end of 2019 after 20 years, having played with many bands, 2020 was the perfect time for me to relax and reflect. Spending more time with my wife, winding down at home was the best thing. I was raised with the Protestant work ethic where "if you're not being productive, serving the public good" that meant relaxation i.e. laziness was looked down upon. In essence, you were wasting your life. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have adopted the "One Thing a Day philosophy. As long as I get one productive thing done each day, it's fine. It could be mowing the lawn, running errands, visiting a friend. That's what matters and makes me happy, period.

Russell I want to thank you for saving my life with your inspiration. I grew up in England and was near my dream of being a recording artist when I got a contract Virgin Records. Life kicked me in the arse with something called reality. I am an alcoholic. Tried programs that never worked but your voice gives me understanding of my disease. You'll probably never read this but know that you have inspired me.

Yes that's me right now, lying in bed feeling anxious and thinking I should be doing something important!

In the US, a working person; is seen as a good person, just for being employed. it's truly warped. "Lazy", is often used as a pejorative; in order to diminish, kind, non-industrious people.

I've got no problem with "kind non industrious people" but I do have a problem being told I need to get my complete jerk industrious ass out of bed at 5:15 AM every day to work in a hot, stinking ass factory just so I can pay like 40+ percent of my income to support such kind people. Do whatever you want, literally, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. But you can't be a "kind person" when everyone else is busting their ass to keep you alive while you sit around all day partying it up.

This is largely due to protestant sentiment; modern, individualistic industrial societies were firstly protestant societies (e.g Britain, Denmark). Protenstant ideology is somewhat neurotic in nature in that work is seen as our penance for past and future sins and thus our measure of goodness. And in my opinion, all current capitalist societies have inherited this neurosis to some degree. It makes us unable to be still and be at ease; I believe this results in the workaholic or, as a reaction/rejection of this pressure, the couch-potato - two sides of the same coin

One person’s “lack of drive” is another’s satisfaction and peace within oneself. Sometimes pushing yourself means you’re not truly happy with where you are at the moment - endeavouring to change your situation. But conversely, some people find peace and satisfaction FROM hard work. So you see, there’s no cut and dried answer.

And we're all carbon based mammalian life forms, ultimately , except for our ability to articulate our conscious thoughts and having a potential connection to a divine frequency. Wow!

Good on you Russell Brand to have come back from the wasted world of H addiction. Being an ex addict im stuck in that lethargic, uninspired place where inspiration seems to be out of reach, maybe too many decades lost in space. Iv not experienced the Cold Ice Rituals of Wim Hof & maybe that's one thing that im missing & i believe we certainly all could recover better having help from a physical/mental/emotional trainer &/or a mentor to get the cells fired up again. Most like myself don't have access to those modalities & It's hard, none of us fully realised the folly of throwing a gifted life away when we decided to self medicate/self indulge Call it what you will but whatever it was & still is, it leaves us waiting...& wanting...

Yup. I'm retired and guilty of sitting on granny's couch watching You Tube videos etc. But I also do things during the day as well. Gotta get my 10,000 + steps in Russell. I like your 5-10 minute videos.
