He tried to ask Russel about his past life, or his past exploits at least but Russel didn't want to talk about that for some reason. Instead, buy a ticket to his tour 👍 or see him in death on the Nile. Anything to keep him from having to earn a 'proper living'.
@RJGmail954
@RJGmail954 2 жыл бұрын
@@whenisasnakeatail4933 Proper living is probably the wrong way of putting it. Perhaps an ordinary living? Or one that's not made by doing the exact thing he tells people not to pursue or get distracted by. It's just interesting how one minute he claims Hollywood is bollocks. Ignore the glitz, the glamour etc, which is easy to say once you've made $20million from doing it and he continues to do it, then continues to do exactly that? Continues to make money from Hollywood by being in films and staying just in the limelight enough to be famous enough to sell tickets to his shows. I'm not saying don't make money through fame, just be upfront about it.

On meditation, I started meditating in 2020 during lockdown and I’ve racked up over 150 hours since then. I used to use drugs, abuse alcohol, was addicted to porn, was a nicotine user, always on social media and had no motivation for most things. I truly was a victim of my own suffering. Since I started meditating and delving into my own mind, I quit social media, stopped using drugs & nicotine, kicked my porn habit and drink rarely. As well as completing an online life coaching course and getting a job doing what I wanted at the company I wanted to work for. My advice to anyone reading this thinking about starting meditation is; do it, and do it now. You will not regret it. Stick at it. Build that habit. It can be hard sometimes and you’ll feel like you aren’t making progress, but over time you will be able to restructure your brain and it’s thoughts and you will be able to regain control over your mind and be in charge of your life. Thank you for reading, I know it’s a lengthy one but meditation means so much to me, it helped me so much and I care about it deeply.

Brilliant podcast. In the last two years I've gone from thinking of Russell as that guy that used to be on the tele that I was largely indifferent to, to seeing him as one of the most inspirational, insightful and interesting characters that I have encountered over the course of my lifetime. He is truly one of the great minds of our generation and his messaging resonates strongly within me. I genuinely think he could spearhead a movement with enough people behind it, to start to change the social fabric in a positive way and bring about much needed political, social, economic and spiritual change.

58:00 what that guy says about Russell thinking one level above, EXACTLY! That’s how people need to think. I’m so passionate about this comment because I’ve been trying to explain this for years!! Russel has just worked it out and articulated it better, thank you so much! People need to be taught how to think like this in early school, and it should be embedded in culture. This is why eastern cultures are better in this context. These days people are just scared and insecure about everything. They just react to the basic superficial level of things instead of thinking broader and mindfully because they’re too consumed with their own selfish, self preserving agendas. They fail to consider different contexts and outcomes. Brand and this Geordie guy (first time watching sorry don’t know his name) are geniuses, but there are lots of people like them out there, all of us who are in tune with what’s right and what’s wrong basically. You need to use your voices if you’re one of them reading this. Don’t let those morons who seem so prevalent on social media put you down and try and out argue you. They’re wrong, and you’re right. Take that with confidence because this way of thinking is truly the way forward. Don’t resent the idiots and bad guys either. At the end of the day, they’re just scared, weak people. You should pity and hope the best for them, and make sure they don’t go to close to the oven in case they burn themselves or the house down. Much love, Jon from Telford, UK

I used to live about 10 minutes away from Russel back in the day. It’s always good to see him doing well. Great podcast TG Team.

Loved this. Its great to see Russell grow over the past few years, , alot of this growth can be attributed to the conversations he's been having with some of our greatest minds. The way he speaks about ancient truths and narratives made me think of Jordan Peterson. What sticks out most to me is his genuine intent to do good and for this he has my deepest respect.

Russell is so tuned in with what is actually going on in the world, I love listening to him discuss his ideology, there’s a lot of people (ie. poorly educated, lower classes) that would agree with A LOT of what he says if only they could comprehend what he’s saying instead of focusing on his history as a drug user!

It’s interesting, my background is fully British, and I converted to Islam last year, and I feel fulfilled and refreshed and even protected from the world and powers that be. I really resonate with what Russel is trying to say with this idea of internal and spiritual authenticity. I would recommend everyone to search for their spirituality. Search for a higher purpose, because it is an innate and essential part of the human being.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. "Fear is stronger than love" . What a great quote. It shows exactly what we are all thinking. We are all struggling and it's nice to know that this is discussed and change needs to happen. It's also good to hear that there is a strategy from Mr Brand as he has gone quiet in the last few years. I know understand why and I hope he is given the platform to progress with the ideas discussed. Great podcast thank you

Can't tell you enough how much I admire and am happy for your successes and the quality of your channel. Said it many times before, but MSM / TV doesn't even come close and 2022 needs to be their wake up call. To think I found you on a rant about England's loss to Iceland.

Yes those were the good days of Russell, total explosive humour and zero filter. His radio show was legendary, sadly no station would take the heat. I am very disappointed that now he tends to promote pseudo science woo and iffy conspiracy drivel.

@@inglejuice yeah I do miss the old him. Keep expecting him to break out into his old ways but it never happens. I listen to Matt Morgan’s podcast which is hilarious, 90% of the time it’s him and Noel Gallagher chatting for 2 hours. Wish they’d get ol’ Russ on

I'm not sure it'd work nowadays in the public domain. I think the best part of the relationship was Matt taking the piss out of Russ, and Russell taking it really well (on camera, I heard they had some bad tiffs off radio, as all friends do), but I don't think Russell is in a point of his life where he'll let someone publicly ridicule him, even in a light hearted way. He's on this vibe now, and I don't see him coming back. It's a shame, but then again, I'd love to see Steve Merchant, Ricky Gervais and Karl Pilkington to do more podcasts

tg is one of those youtube channels that i have legitimate respect for and reminds me of the excitement i had for the type of content we'd have on youtube when it started. an individual that wants to do it themselves independently, but wants to do with strong quality and professionalism. the "mac miller" category of video content creation.

Strangely enough Laurence, I also attended Goldsmiths (back in 1985) and during my first week, I met a chap who you could have believed Russell Brand had actually modelled himself on! He was another 'delicate little birdman', sporting the eyeliner and playing in a band called 'Elvis, What Happened? His main ambition in life, he said, was that he "just wanted to be a star". Yep, the Goldsmiths of today wasn't all that different 37 years ago!
