My top three favorite movies are Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins and Gladiator. And yes the ending will still make me cry. I could listen to Russell Crowe talk about anythingggg.

Really liked that Crowe pushed for his character to talk Italian in Pope's Exorcist. It's always satisfying to me when they adress why they're switching to English. Hoping for a sequel!

Russell should have scooped up the Oscar for Beautiful Mind, in my opinion, but perhaps he didn't because he'd already won for Gladiator the year before.

I think it was a combination of Denzel being overdue for a best actor oscar and Russell's personal issues around the time of voting. I think that was when the phone incident was.

@@gunguginga7774 my bad that was an incident that happened a couple years later. But he did have an incident right during voting where he apparently physically assaulted the BAFTA president because his acceptance speech was cut short. He was the front runner at that point.

In high school we learned about the Great Depression and we learned about the Cinderella man in a couple paragraphs. I loved learning about the man. Then a couple months later the movie came out and me and my friends loved it. Glad it I learned of him in school.

so many wonderful films with so many interesting characters. His curiosity about his roles and their places in time, his concern about accurate portrayal of those characters and his thoughtful examination of how he tries to respect them shows, I think a remarkable talent.

His story about Gladiator was hilarious too can’t remember Ridley mentioning this on the dvd all those years ago. Bring Russell back for more stories.
