In this episode of the Aleph Podcast we had the honour of inviting the legendary, veteran musician; Bassist, Russell D'Souza. The conversation is about Russell’s journey in the music industry.
Born in Karachi, Russell started playing the guitar from an early age. The bass legend has been associated with many renowned artists in his life. His first band was with the great (late) Aamir Zaki. Inspired by Neil Araujo, He started his music journey in the mid 80’s. Russell has played with various artists and has been a session player for several prominent artists and bands, including Shafqat Aamanat Ali, Strings - the band, Hadiqa Kiyani, Shehzad Roy & Abrar Ul Haq. Like father like son, Russell inherited his musical genes from his father and transferred them to his talented children; Russell’s son Bradley D’Souza is also a well established session bassist and worked with Strings for many years before their retirement.
