Good afternoon Kate, enjoyed this, and listening to Michael Clarke again. One major critique, we're not giving the right response to Putin. Zelensky, Budanov and Syrski have made it quite clear. Ben Hodges, Macron, the tall Dutch guy whose name begins with 'V', Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland are all fully on board. So must we be. There is no discussion until every Russian boot has left Ukrainian territory (or is buried under it- my words), including all the occupied territories including Crimea. So if we are Ukraine's friends, that is what we are helping them to do. Anything less is cowardice, treachery and backstabbing. Do we want to have that against us when the history books are updated.
@GloryCarrier22

That’s hilarious , I don’t think your insistence that “there is no discussion” will prove to be relevant given the fact that Russia is winning the conflict and has no reason to “discuss” anything!

if you’re suggesting additional european armies should march on crimea and the donbas, you need to understand that russia would consider this an existential threat and grounds for nuclear retaliation. moreover, none of these european countries except perhaps the baltic states have any interest in spilling their own blood to save ukraine-the poorest and, along with russia and moldova, one of the three most corrupt countries in europe-from losing 20% of its territory. keep in mind the US-backed west has stood idly by while russia has held on to pieces of georgia and moldova, while azerbaijan ethnically cleansed armenians from nagorno-karabakh, and protected Israel from diplomatic consequences for stealing land from its neighbors

Kate, Another great show.I wish Michael Clark and Gen. Ben Hodges could get more exposure, especially in American Mass Media, to make the case for the value of the Ukrainian aid package towards American national security. Unfortunately, the general American public is not very well informed in regards to events beyond our borders and have no conception of the ravages for war and the dangers of imperialism or fascism.It's all very abstract and they don't understand how global events affect their daily lives. It's like reliving the 1930's and 40's. ( unfortunately our 'Greatest Generation' who experienced and understood this, has passed). Thanks, to you and your guests, for trying to illuminate the information space.

@gadgetgus
@gadgetgus Ай бұрын
@user-sm3xq5ob5d I partly agree. We used the Swordfish torpedo biplane for that exact reason. The Hood was built during WW1 and launched in 1918. Despite her design flaws and already being out of date, including a real requirement for an essential upgrade in the early-mid thirties, she was a great battlecrusier from the WW1 period and flew the flag and represented our country well, overall. The Bismark was launched in 1939 with all the latest hardware, technology, and 21 years younger - a massive difference. She took a lot of hits and sustained significant damage, but unfortunately, she was hit in the magazine and blew up due to not getting that upgrade, which I mentioned earlier, which would of prevented that and given her move time to close with the enemy. Only three sailors survived. 🙏

There's no reason for Ukraine to settle for anything less than 100% of its Budapest Memorandum-recognized territory, 100% reparations for damage and cost of fighting, and a 200km DMZ inside Russia and Belarus. The only things to negotiate are 1) over what time period are the reparations due and 2) maybe the depth of the DMZ.

Thankyou Michael Clarke for your good work. Can the Ukrainians make their own cheap n nasty, FAB glide bombs? Ukraine has shown ingenuity and is likely to make a better one.

For every hit of Russian equipment, Ukraine has to put up thousands of drones in the air. Drones are not a panacea, they have their limitations. Russia has excellent electronic warfare jamming capabilities that can knock drones out of the air.

The glide bombs look more like a copy of the ones delivered earlier to Ukraine by I think the USA than something new? I've seen graphics of bombs that were going to Ukraine quite a long time ago. This is the problem with every weapon. It only ever gives you a battlefield advantage for a limited time, until your enemy imitates it. And then everyone has them, so the ultimate effect is just to increase the number of casualties on future battlefields. You could call it the "post longbow effect" or something.

I deeply respect Mr Clarke and value his analysis but I have to correct him on one point: Mathis Rust was intercepted by Migs. There is footage of it, the russians and Rust told so. They could have intercepted him, they simply decide not to shoot him down. The rest of his analysis about russias air defense still stands.

I love this program and try and catch every episode, I would, however, like to respectfully disagree about the Ukrainians needing world support for the morale to keep fight. I have had dozens of Ukrainian friends over the years and competed against Ukrainians at the highest level of sport, and I can tell you, they are not a people that are going to go down without a fight, especially for their country. That does not mean that we should not continue giving as much support as possible, because war malaise is real, if it’s not happening in your front yard. 😅
