MAGA is using Jackson's Indian removal Act as a model for how a " Illegal Alien Removal Act" would be implimented. The Indians were removed to open up more lands for white settlers. Illegal alien removal would be to preserve America's whiteness. In the case of the Indians,they actually sued the government to remain on their lands,and the case was appealed to the Supreme Court which ruled in their favor. Andrew Jackson made his infamous reply "Mr (Chief Justice) Marshall has made his ruling.Now let him enforce it" Jackson basically said the Supreme Court has no real authority to enforce it's wishes since they don't control the Army like the President nor can it raise or withhold funding or create new laws as the Congress can. Jackson went ahead with his removal policy.The modern Supreme Court basically has granted a President who conducted a similar policy against court orders,immunity on the grounds it was an official act. The SC would claim this isn't really making the President a King since he still is subject to being Impeached and removed by the Legislative branch,and the President would still have to answer to the voters if he is on his first term seeking reelection,or would be Constitutionally barred from being elected to a third term.

Canadian here, while not directly Ukrainian ( im English and Finn) we have Ukrainian relatives from Saskatoon Saskatchewan, to Dauphin Manitoba, all through Canada. We have a proud history in Canada of our Ukrainian culture as a part of our shared heritage . Ukrainian food dancing , great people. Ukraine exists, its culture exists , its people exist!! As a British man, this is massively disappointing to see our number 1 ally go down the far-right route. I'm friends with a lot of American's that are ex-military, that have both Republican views and Democratic views, and all of them hate the far-right movement that's taken over American politics. My American friends care about the same things as any normal person does in any other country. I never thought that American's would screw over their military, and allow the far-right to win - especially when you consider what happened when Hitler threatened your country. Men and women died to keep America safe. The lack of common sense within the American people is mind-blowing to me. It's like people don't care about their own national security, service personel, or the security of the entire Earth. NATO keeps dictators and slave mongers in check. Without democracy and NATO, the world is lost. I have massive hope for Kier Starmer to talk sense into Trump(if he is elected as President), to make him see what will happen if he tries to lobby to get the U.S. out of NATO. It will be absolutely horrible for the American people. China, Russia, North Korea, and even Iran, will more than likely invade as a team. This creates a MASSIVE global political divide between the U.S. and Europe if Trump screws us all over. This isn't just about the United States of America... this is about the entire world's security. Trump and JD Vance are uneducated idiots. Jake, all of this must hurt you to your core, and I bet that it all sometimes makes you wonder why you served your country just for this to happen, but just remember that you served your country for the right reasons. Your heart is in the right place. Please, people of America; do not vote for Trump. It's not the same Republican party that you once knew.

As of now it's the GOP that has gone down the far-right route not the nation. If you throw out Trump's 2016 win,when many independants thought he was putting on an act,and would be a somewhat standard Republican once in office, you will see that the MAGA brand has been toxic in national elections in 2018 (GOP lost control of the House of Representatives and key governorships in swing states Trump won in 2016) 2020 (GOP lost the White House and Senate) and even 2022 (a predicted GOP red wave and big House majority turned into a narrow House majority and Democrtic swing state Governors being reelected) Trump and MAGA are going to be rejected again when it comes time for Democratic leaning voters and Independants to actually have to cast a vote and not pine for a Bil Clinton or Barack Obama Democratic rockstar to magically appear on the ballot to save them. With Project 2025, a radical right Supreme Court, and abortion rights initiatives on the ballot in many key states,there is no excuss for a Democratic leaning person who hasn't voted before or rarely votes to sit the election out by telling themselves "There isn't any real difference between the two" as many did in 2016 when it was Trump vs Hillary. MAGA/GOP have laid out their agenda in the form of Project 2025 which is a radical reorganizing of American government,foreign policy, and society. Nobody has an excuse not to do what was done in 2018,2020,and 2022 and reject the GOP at the polls.

Leave your morals aside for a minute and maybe consider that not everything is as it seems. For example. There have only been 3 major new defense companies in recent years. Bringing a lot of important innovations. These are SpaceX, Palantir and Andruil. When you take a look at the list of tech billionaire Trump supporters, it's a who is who of founders, financiers and supporters of these 3 companies as well as a number of others like them. E.g. Musk, Thiel, Luckey, Lonsdale, etc. You can take a look e.g. at the American Optimist podcast as well as something like S3 podcast to get exposed to some of the smaller companies that you'll probably never have heard of. If you dig a little you will easily find that these companies are all playing a major role in helping Ukraine. To the extent that the Biden administration allows them. Since there are some export limits on some high tech. (e.g. Lonsdale's e.m. startup has supposedly not been allowed to be active in Ukraine yet) And yet, according to Jake, these people - as a group - are somehow outright anti-Ukrainian? How does this contradiction work? At best, there are individuals that have spoken out for peace talks such as Musk. And there are others that have a clear pro RU stance such as David Sachs. But the majority of the so called tech billionaires that get grouped here are by far the most relevant people when it comes to the current global power competition.

The stranger thing is that I think he knows he's smart but somehow deficient. I read a "world's richest man" interview with Musk that occurred after his divorce. The interviewer asked him if he was happy. Musk said that he wasn't sad by any means but he wasn't convinced that humans could be totally happy without being in love. Part of Elon believes that Elon is missing a "part" that makes him truly lovable, like she'd marry him if he was a truck driver instead of a billionaire. It's like the tin man in the Wizard of Oz. Trust me, I'm Aspergers with the ability to empathize. Probably not as much as you but it's there. It's also entirely possible that I could be totally off.

The issue is that no politician truly wants the best for their country; they just want to get votes every election to keep holding onto power and money. (Javier Milei is a hope for Argentina, but he only appeared because Argentina was already in a very bad state. Milei never gave up, he won the cultural battle on social media, and since everyone wanted a change, he secured the majority of votes.) Additionally, due to corruption, they do bad things, or they are too cowardly to confront the evil (such as drug trafficking, organized crime). (Bukele did it, but he appeared because El Salvador was in a very bad state). I don't want to imagine how the world will end up if the United States has to hit rock bottom for a president/politicians who truly care about the country to appear.

Don´t get me wrong, european piliticians are also far far far away from beeing perfect and we also got people who want to sell you black for white, but usually they don´t get supported by the majority of voters. I am truly shoked. I also don´t get why democrats voted for a really old guy who should have retired some years ago. I don´t think 80 year olds can be a real push for the future in general.

If it makes you feel better, 538towin has Biden favored win the election by about the same margin that Decision Desk had Trump. It's ridiculous it's a toss up at all but keep in mind that polls also tend to be answered by older people (who tend to favor the right-wing). Also, choosing someone like Vance instead of balancing the ticket isn't going to draw in any support from moderates and may lead them to not voting.

Big corporate money (the Federalist Society, Musk, etc) wanting full governmental deregulation have joined forces with The Heritage Foundation wanting America to be a Christian theocracy, and Trump plays the "populist pied piper" to generate the necessary votes. Throw in Orban, visiting Kiev for the first time to ask Zelensky to accept Putin's terms of ceasefire. Then Orban flies to Moscow to meet with Putin, and then to Beijing to meet with Xi. Then Orban completes his world "peace tour" in America but he doesn't fly to Washington. Orban goes to Mar-a-Lago. Something is up and it's big.

In Europe it has come as far as being booed if you drive a Tesla thanks to Musks behavior. It hopefully won‘t be long until the factory in Germany will have to relocate. This not only because Elon is a questionable person, but because there‘s no need to harm German automakers by supporting a foreign factory on German ground. This could have been different if Elon would not have blatantly show how much he dislikes Europe but supports Russia. He could build a new factory in Russia, I heard it‘s a save place for investments.
