A Russian intercontinental missile is launched in a drill by Vladimir Putin's nuclear forces - as the threat level increases.
The Kremlin said Russia had successfully test-launched hypersonic and cruise missiles at sea and land-based targets during the exercises by Russia's nuclear forces.
The drills follow a huge series of manoeuvres by Russia's armed forces in the past four months that have included a build-up of troops - estimated by the West to number 150,000 or more - to the north, east and south of Ukraine.
Europe is closer to war than it has been for 70 years as Russia sits on the brink of launching a full scale invasion of Ukraine, a minister warned.
Armed Forces minister James Heappey said he fears "we are closer than we've been on this continent" to conflict since the opening days of the Cold War.

NATO: Every country has a right to self determination and a right to defend itself from aggression from hostile external threats. To be fair, If S/American countries ask Russia or China to set up military bases for security and protection, the US should also respect their choice. 👍

Sure but there is nothing to benefit for South American countries to be allied militarily with Russia or China. 1. They don't have the military sustenance to set up bases that far in S. America since it would be costly and complex to secure. 2. Most S. American countries are democratic and have past trauma with dictatorships and would be allergic to any form of military alliance with Russia/China. 3. Most S. American countries stand to benefit economically from having close relations with NATO that account for roughly 50% of the world's GDP in total. 4. They do not see their neighbour the US as a security threat. In fact, cooperation with the US has been at an all time high in trade and security. 5. You would have to be stupid to ally yourselves with non-democratic countries like Russia/China when they are making enemies with almost every one of their neighbours. China is also creating enemies with India, Japan, Australia and almost all SEA countries in the South China Sea.

Here's a true but nerve racking story. In 1987 me and 3 of my friends were camping and playing war games in the woods below my grand perants house. It was probably about 11pm at night and we were running around in the woods. Just by chance we looked up to see what looked like 7 missles streaking across the Texas night sky. You could just make out the yellow,white and blue flames at the end. We were joking it was Russia attacking us SINCE WE WERE PLAYING WAR GAMES, HA HA. we got scared and ran to my friends Cory's house and woke his perants up. They didn't believe us and were mad we woke them. So we grabbed food and went back to our tents. We couldn't sleep now. The next morning we went back to Cory's house and his perants were up making breakfast. They looked at us as we walked in and said we were wright. The news was on saying Russia was testing ballistic missles and they miss fired and instead of going into the ocean, the streaked across the southern United States and landed in the Pacific Ocean instead of the Atlantic.

News flash, the tu-95 is like the b52... Built during the cold war era and both are still in service today. If you haven't noticed, both planes pretty much still use analog. US nuclear systems also are retro because they're unable to be hacked
