Drones are usually derived on the concept that the remote controlled item is controlled by someone but with a camera to allow the user see what the drone see. I remember a time when Camera-less flying drones were just called “Quadcopters” because those things didn’t have a camera at the time. Now it’s just a marketing thing because normal people don’t know the difference.

Last time I saw a problem like this, we used comedically huge glue traps. It worked surprisingly well. Even with system of high torque. At this point a proximity jammer might prove useful

Probably running off 2.4 to 5 ghz. Just have a way to detect the presence of the frequency. When frequency is detected the device jams it as a defensive measure. Not impossible to build.

And fairly easy to evade by also including some target discrimination and a "released program" if it becomes unable to respond to it's primary and secondary signals; it magnetically detects the biggest ferrous object and blows it up- complete with pre programmed evasive maneuvers. It is a really cat and mouse game, as we found in the missile/counter missile confrontations with the USSR.

Once trained as an engineer, I have seen it many times that a need to change paths, as with NASA's reduction of it's early "full press" and layoff of 30K technical people, a lot of them aerospace engineers. A company I worked for did a lot of cross training for clients looking to hire these guys for use in different fields. These guys are always looking for a better way to do what ever and new knowledge is no stranger; a few dozen new equations and a bit, and twenty hours retrain can take many of them to the point of finishing themselves in under a year.

Here's a thing for those in the comments who maintain that aerial drones have the same uses: 1) a bomb-capable aerial drone is far more expensive than these ground-based RC's; 2) a single reconnaissance aerial drone can be utilized as a distraction to a Russian armored vehicle/tank convoy, while several of these RC's maneuver underneath & detonate their ordnance. This is what was done when Ukraine sank the Russian Black Sea flagship, the "Moskva". These "toys" are lethal. SLAVA UKRAINI!

During WW2, Germany trained dogs to do the exact same same thing, but since the dogs were trained on German tanks and knew the odor of their fuel and exhaust, they tended to run under German tanks and not Allied ones! 80 years later, Ukraine fixed this problem by building a better dog.

Not sure if the training was extremely smell-specific or not, but under typical circumstances dogs like to use every sense available to them, so I could imagine the dogs actually knowing the smell, sight, AND sound of their own side's tanks.

That's definitely possible. T-72, T-80 & T-90 tanks all store their ammunition on a ringed carousel the top of which meets the bottom of the turret's walls. Basically, the ammo is under the floor, & under that is the thinnest armor on the tank plus a crew bailout door. Jaga jaga!

The public opinion in Germany regarding the war in Ukraine in the last poles are obviously The One that Do not want to face Russia. French public may not differ That much, only One in 10 or 20 is ready to take arms and defend Germany, then it is something to think about. I think The Idea of Lebensraum is the working Parameter in the German France and British Mind behind that Attitude. Germany occupying Russia or Russia occupying Germany is the same. Specially in the last 50 years germans may think to build some special place in Russian mind by showcasing BMW and Mercedes, and Russians cannot build it but instead They have the much needed Lebensraum to offer. The role of church in creating the further cohesion must not be underestimated. The past 30 years under the Umbrella of Tourism Russians and germans met each others enough Not to hate each other That Much. Think of so many Russian women who got married in Europe and Germany. Additionally European Currency the Euro was from the very beginning A sign that they want to play an independent role in global economy to compete with the US Dollar. I think USA should not get involved in this whole mind set of Europe. It will cost only more Blood and Money to protect someone Who Do Not Want to be Part of Your security and Economic interest. A Europe From Holland or more specifically British Island! Upto the borders of China and Japan, will feel itself increasingly Strong to become The next Undisputed Super Power. The one who is Strong enough to tackle Chinese ambitions and at the same time Putting USA in a very second place Even if that Constellation of New Europe have to do it along with China. That New Constellation of Europe could become evident in the next 5 or 10 years or maybe Sooner. So as Someone From Middle East and Specifically Iran, I will Do Anything to Frustrate that new Constellation. Anything. Reviving The very best relationship with The USA is just the First step. No man onboard = unmanned. UAVs are flying drones, but still human controlled. Autonomous is another kind of drone.

@@oneshothunter9877 Sure, but it seems silly to call it unmanned when there’s a person controlling it nearby. In an age where a Lot of what we have is “unmanned”, it seems silly to drag about. Being “unmanned” matter a literal hundred years ago when people were killing themselves to ensure a bomb reached a target and the US trained birds to pilot missiles..

@@FurryEskimo Like @oneshothunter9877 Said, It is classified as unmanned, since there is no life on board it is unmanned, you can also say that any rc car is unmanned, while yes it is being controlled by a person it still is classified as unmanned, for example we used the U2 spy plane for years which was manned, now we have unmanned drones, meaning that someone is controlling it while not being in it which would classify it as unmanned, now unlike most unmanned aircraft he brought up a good point about autonomous, Meaning that no one is controlling it and it does everything by its self. Manned vs unmanned is a classification of if we are flying with human input/crew inside or outside the craft.

@@CicadaTYexcept there’s no version of this that could be manned. It blows up. It could fit under your jacket. Nobody is riding these around.There’s no reason it should be specified that there isn’t a person in it when there was never a manned version of it. We should call laser guided bombs unmanned. There’s a person on the ground painting the target with a laser, controlling where it goes and what it destroys. There nobody riding on it. I’m open to discussion on this but I have to go for now. I just heard my radio controlled unmanned doorbell. Peace.

@heatshield okay, but the same can be said about the predator drones. There is no version that could be manned, yet it is still classified as unmanned. So, the classification of unmanned is still an accurate statement. But you can disagree. There's nothing against opinions. Everyone has one.
