The United States and Japan's proposal to ban nuclear weapons in space was shot down by Russia at the UN Security Council. Moscow vetoed the resolution, accusing the West of putting up a "dirty spectacle". This comes amidst growing fears of space warfare. Western Intelligence reports have accused Russia of planning to deploy nuclear weapons in space. However, Moscow has denied these claims. Experts warn that a space arms race could be devastating. A single attack with a nuclear weapon could cripple entire network systems, leaving countries vulnerable.
Russia has already demonstrated its willingness to use cyberattacks to disrupt communication networks, as seen in its attack on Ukraine before the invasion. Moscow is also suspected of testing tools to sabotage Starlink, a satellite internet service heavily relied upon by Ukrainian forces. With tensions already high, the possibility of weapons in space poses a serious threat to global security. Palki Sharma tells you more.

It's good to see people with common sense and brain around. Many are making biased videos blaming Russia. Russia has valid point you cannot make such biased video, cherry pick what Russia did. Russia already mentioned it is banned on Outer Space Treaty. These agreements include the Partial Test Ban Treaty (1963), the Outer Space Treaty (1967), and the Moon Agreement (1979). Notably, the Outer Space Treaty prohibits states parties from placing nuclear weapons or any other WMD in orbit, on celestial bodies, or stationing them in outer space in any other manner. On top of that, Russia proposed even better amendments.Russia and China proposed an amendment to the resolution that sought to prevent the placement of weapons of any kind in space. That's a lie they didn't try to amend the proposal Russia's U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia accused Washington of trying to tarnish Moscow and said Russia would shortly begin negotiations with council members on its own draft resolution aimed at keeping space peaceful. why did they not pass the proposal and then propose banning all weapons from space. Because talk is cheap.

Not necessarily. It’s mainly because of the fact that US benefits from space and satellite intelligence the most including militarily, so a neutral space favors US much more than any superpowers. And SpaceX is so ahead of everyone now including against government space agencies that by the time US decides to militarise space, they will do it when it’s too late for their rivals to respond.

If nukes are freely used by everyone, it won’t matter the size and firepower any country has including US because nukes are an equaliser. One way they probably view this resolution is that it’s simply an extension of banning use of nukes within earth AND outside of it. As long as nukes are out of the equation anywhere US will be favored.

What is Palki and her team smocking exactly? When No Amry isn't gonna attack a boarder position without adequate man power. No boarder guard is stupid enough to think that they can stop a full scale army till reinforcement arrives. It's like fighting against sword with sticks.
