This is the parade on Saint Petersburg's Palace Square devoted to the 78th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War. This parade took place on May 9, 2023. Taking the salute is commander of the Western Military District, Lieutenant General Igor Seritsky. Commanding the parade is Chief of the Mikhailov Artillery Academy, Lieutenant General Sergei Pokaleav. Music by the Leningrad Military Oblast orchestra.

the reason why this one is better is because they have security issues in moscow currently, most likely due to ukraines attack and i think st petersburg is less targeted in a way

i believe this one was used during the 1985 or 1995 parades, I love this version over the modern one, even though in my opnion the best version is from 1987

There were security and safety concerns in Moscow that Ukraine would bomb some of the slow moving tank columns, especially after the drone strike over the Kremlin a couple days ago.

because of Ukrainian terror threat, most of the cities canceled armor and aerial parade. but other cities like tula oblast included tank parade with T14

@@wanttogohome719 No they didn't. The parade in Tula this year included only light armored vehicles such as BTRs and BMDs (except for T-34 from WW2 era), just like the one in Moscow. As far as I know, a T-72B3 and a T-90A from Volgograd, two T-72B3s from Omsk, and four T-62Ms and two T-80BVMs from Khabarovsk are the only "tanks" (I mean MBTs) that were shown in the VE Day parades around Russia this year. p.s. Also 3 T-80BVMs from Murmansk.

Since even local Russian media usually had KZfaq, Twitter, or VK accounts and uploaded live and archived footage of the local parades, it was not difficult to find out about these.

Only last year I learned that the victory parade from Red Square is watched not only in Russia and the neighboring CIS countries, but also a little in Japan. @@matthewlightfoot9626 there is about 9-12 thousands of T-72 in stockpile (not saying about T-80, T-64 and other types) T-90M are in active production (more than 150 a year probably) and even T-14 sent to SMO zone. Are you here fore provoking or what?
