A Russian cargo ship hits a road bridge in Busan, South Korea. The Korea coastguard said the 5,998-ton Seagrand hit the Gwangan bridge before turning around. No injuries were reported but the bridge was closed for safety checks, the Korea Herald reported. It said the captain had a blood alcohol content of 0.086% when the legal limit is 0.03%. It is not clear if he was at the helm at the time.

That looks like a _much_ bigger and more modern bridge than the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The bridge that collapsed in Maryland was much older (late 70's), much smaller, designed/ built completely differently, and struck differently.

raiden z who “he”? Captain? Captain does not navigate the ship. At least alone
@searchfortech8042
@searchfortech8042 5 жыл бұрын
Fintan no, it doesn’t look like failure. Ship should not navigate towards that bridge. Alteration point is much more further. Even if it was a failure to change course, crew could drop anchor and work full astern with the engine much much in advance. And it would not lead to such situation like on the video. Only one logical explanation: nobody on the bridge, or sleeping on the bridge for some strange reason. Maybe drunk, maybe something else. Really easy to investigate

All the bridges having ship traffic can be provided with laser beams at the bottom most point of the bridge and also ships should be provided with a laser beam receiving mechanism at the top most point of the ship. this simple arrangement will avoid the ships colliding with the bridges.
