Here I teach the completely illogical numbers in Russian. The numbers themselves are logical but how they change nouns and adjectives that follow isn't at all.
List of numbers:
1 - один 11 - одиннадцать
2 - два 12 - двенадцать
3 - три 13 - тринадцать
4 - четыре 14 - четрырнадцать
5 - пять 15 - пятьнадцать
6 - шесть 16 - шестьнадцать
7 - семь 17 - семьнадцать
8 - восемь 18 - восемьнадцать
9 - девять 19 - девятьнадцать
10 - девять 20 - двадцать
30 - двадцать
40 - сорок
50 - пятьдесять
60 - шестьдесять
70 - семьдесять
80 - восемьдесять
90 - девяноста
100 - сто

That’s great that you’ve mentioned this topic and actually it’s quite difficult to remember all numbers in Russian as they’re supposed to be hard to memorize.

Правильнее было бы «Уменя есть сестра и двое братьев»

As a native speaker I didn't even think about absurdity with numbers. And I prefer thinking about word 'put' and his equivalent words in russian 'класть/ставить'. Put a knife and put a plate on the table. !Положи! нож и !поставь! тарелку на стол.

You made a little mistake, 50 through 80 don't have the "ь" at the end. Пятьдесят, etc. But I don't know why, either 😅. Languages just evolve over many hundreds of years, I guess that's the explanation for them not being logical.

And a little tip for the pronunciation of 50,..., 80: In conversations we normally use a shortened pronunciation. "Песят", "шесят", "сéмьсят", "вóсемьсят".

For me as a native Russian speaker, this sentence sounds weird: У меня есть 21 большой стол. I think I would rather say: У меня есть 21 больших столов, which is technically wrong, but everyone would understand it. EDIT: After all, the first sentence is the correct one and DOES sound natural. I've been corrected on that. It seems like my Russian has gotten a bit rusty 😄

@@8-bit-cookie249 This topic with the different endings for different cases is probably the craziest thing in Russian. Most native speakers make a lot of mistakes with this.

Используй слова-помощники для определения падежа. Нет кого чего 21 большого стола. Вижу кого что 21 большой стол

@@HighSpeedForLives В любом случае это как-то странно звучит: У меня 21 большой стол и 31 маленький стул 😅 Наверное такое просто редко встречается в речи.

@@Dennis_LearnGeek абсолютно естественно звучит. У меня 31 рубль, 121 толстый жук.

yep, numbers are kinda stupid like this (I did not think about that before this video). To be fair tho, the simple counting stuff is very ancient, and was around for a looooong time, and evolved/changed a lot => all kinds of stupid things could ve happened. And as evidenced by this video, quite a few did happen. Oh well. Fun fact -- you must say два брата, but also -- двое братьев. Go figure.
