Russian President Vladimir Putin has stepped on North Korean soil for the first time in 24 years to strengthen trade and security ties between the two countries and foster support against the United States.
North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un greeted Putin as his plane arrived in Pyongyang at around 2:45am (local time).
The Pentagon has voiced concern over the growing relationship between Russia and North Korea, and has vowed to monitor the situation.
