After so many thoughtless and selfish people kill, injure, and destroy on Russian roads, it's always comforting to those who are willing to put themselves in jeopardy when they pull over and leave their vehicles to help others. They, too, are potential victims. God help the innocent.

I noticed that as well. It is especially surprising as I am guessing some of this aftermath is especially gruesome. But yes, God love 'em for doing what they can to help. What they lack in driving skills and sobriety they make up for in altruism. I have a true soft spot in my heart for our slavic brethren. They have endured more turmoil in their history than we could ever imagine.

No we don't . A lot of crashes because too high speed or too brave drivers on oncoming lane or combined. Also awful cars/roads. And of course a lot of just stupidity=)

Каждый раз, когда смотрю ролики про аварии, удивляют две вещи - 1) Как некоторые водители, когда видят опасность, не предпринимают никаких действий для избежания столкновения, хотя бы затормозив заранее или свернув, даже если не виноват; 2) Как моментально все включают аварийку, как только стукнутся.

That's actually excellent driving (by the cam driver) at 12:27 - he waited till as late as possible to choose which way to veer to avoid the collision. If he'd committed straight away to go right he would have been collected.

Thanks to You Tube & their Russian/Ukrainian car crash videos, I’m so desensitized about auto accidents. I witnessed one on Friday after leaving the office, luckily no one was injured or killed. It was a three vehicle collision.

I was in Ukraine a few years ago and learned pedestrians there have the absolute right of way. There was no waiting at a cross walk to see if cars would stop. The would just step out in the street assuming they would. I can see how so many pedestrians would be killed.

Twice as many pedestrians in Russia than here, because of all the public transport. I have been one of them on a number of occasions. You? In regards to pedestrians the roads are well marked and the drivers are polite. But everyone has a dash cam. So, expect to see everything that happens on KZfaq.

@@nunyabidness117 Ridiculous. The cross walks are clearly marked. And in the city, most are controlled by a signal. And people wait for the walk signal, just like any other big city. What was amazing to me was, how many people trust the walk signal and do not look both ways before stepping out into the road. But I see that everywhere.

@@jimh527 I spent 5 weeks in Ukraine so yes. The thing that struck me is how much contempt pedestrians held for drivers, usually stepping in front of them instead of waiting a few seconds for them to pass. I agree, everyone having a dashcam does make it seem the carnage seem widespread but even so there is an insane disregard for traffic laws, traffic control devices, road conditions, and common sense on display.

A Russian driver would not make more than 100 metres in Italian traffic. Do these cars have rubber tires, or are that riding on teflon?? How on earth is it possible to insure a car over there?

They'd be lucky to make it that far in any Australian traffic, certainly in the larger cities eg. Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane. Most of them would probably lose their licence for driving whilst intoxicated (limit in most Aussie states is 0.05% on a full licence, zero for learners & probationary drivers). As for insurance, I wonder the same thing...

I hv seen many and this one is bad and it blow my mind that people think that they can get away without hurting a other car so people by ignoring red light or Turing left or right without having a good look or by speeding like that, it's just crazy. Thanks for sharing

I was in Ukraine a few years ago and pedestrians both had the absolute right of way and hated anyone who could afford a car meaning they would just step out into the street with absolutely no regard for traffic.

The roads might look decent n the first glance, but most of the time they are actually very poorly designed: they are often too wide, and the speed limit (legal or actual) is way too high.

In many occasions it is due to complicated system of yelding the road in intersections whyle the rest of the world solved it with stop signs/ advanced greens etc., plus reliance on stationary police points instead of patroling the roads. God bless Canada with its demerit points system (something they don’have either in Russia)

How often do you see road works going on on Russian roads? Here in Australia you carnt turn left with out running into them. Better road builders with no maintenance?

i am a russian living in germany. A year ago i went in russia, the traffic is a little harder but everyone drives normal, many peole think that russians are the worst drivers, i can guarentee that the same amount of crashes happen in germany (a2 xD). In russia there are just many dashcams
