Russian shells hit frontline town in Ukraine's Kharkiv region

RUSSIAN forces continued to pound towns and villages in the east of Ukraine on Tuesday (April 12).
Barvinkove, a small town in Kharkiv region, just a few miles from administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk has been under shelling for weeks but there are fears the worst is yet to come.
Ukrainian officials say Russian forces have been regrouping for a new offensive, and that Moscow plans to seize as much territory as it can in the eastern part of Ukraine known as Donbas bordering Russia.
"We can see hardware coming, we can hear the sound of it driving. There was incoming fire recently, which lasted for 15-20 minutes. Now it is quiet. When it is quiet for a long time, it gets suspicious,” Leonid Serduchenko, Ukrainian army commander in Barvinkove said.

I couldn’t agree more. There is so much Germany could be doing more than they already have. They have finally decided for the first time in their history since WW2 to actually supply weapons directly into a war zone but what they’ve sent so far isn’t nearly enough by comparison to what they could very easily accomplish. If they could send in German tanks, now that would be a real lifesaver.

Thank you for saying so. You can actually volunteer if you wish to, so long as you are below the age of 60. You may have to supply some of your own equipment but you will still be given the essentials including weapons once you arrive. Just contact your local Ukrainian embassy either on their website or in person and they’ll give you instructions on what to do and how to get there after an interview. So long as you are actually physically able to do so you should be alright. You are to go through all the constant hellish checks they do with regular military where even the tiiiiniest thing is off then you can’t join. It’s all hands on deck now. If you are able to spare the time to do it either for the over arcing time of the war or just for a signed on amount of committed time then you should be alright. I intend to see if I can help with transporting equipment across the boarders in the coming months or weeks if I’m unable to volunteer.

what i don't get is why these soldiers are stationed near settlements then when targeted/bombed, the media reports of civilian casualties that as if it was purely civilians alone being targeted. the civilians sadly are collateral damages by both sides.

I may like the reporting on the situation but I can never click the like button. I do not want there to ever be any misunderstanding. I do not like what is happening to Ukraine. It is savage. To me it would be about like Canada slipping over the border and trying to take out Montana or North Dakota. Canada would not do us that way but Ukraine borders Russia and have to fight or die.

Among the 1026 Ukrainian Marines who surrendered in Mariupol were the British. This was reported to RT by a source in law enforcement agencies. Eslyn Aidin Daniel John, a 28-year-old native of Nottingham, commanded a mortar battery. He is badly wounded. Another British citizen, Pinner Shaun, born in 1973, was detained on the morning of April 12, when he tried to break through the encirclement.

We guess from this you can really get a sense then that the Russians are wanting to try and push in this area. The soldier is 100% right. It is appreciated to have some peace between firing, but when it is quiet for too long it gets suspicious. Very rightly so. It either means there is incoming danger or a good opportunity to try and find them. Got to use every advantage you can while you can. We’ve got to help all of these units as best we can. They are clearly a small force in this area but still got the hearts of lions to keep it safe. We need to get equipment to this area and all the others ASAP.
