The issue is pricing and availability. Also I think Korean or Turkish fighters make more sense from pricing and the country is not overly reliant on super powers.

Due to high maintenance and operating cost of russian aircraft, i think it is not feasible for malaysia to acquire this aircraft. Better for Malaysia to join TFX Kaan project with Turkiye or acquire Boramae from South Korea. Previously Malaysia suffered maintenance issues about their MiG-29 and Su-30, while their Hornet fleet still in flyable good condition.

I have to admit SU57 Felon is one great fighter , however the only thing is the supply chain of spare parts with the Russian counterparts. As to supply Felon spare parts in case there is war , it could be hard , but in the same time , NATO / US spare parts able to supply with ease together with other compatible country such as Turkey. Personally I can say candidate like SU35 can be part of another new squadron for MRCA category besides SU57 , SU57 is stealth fighter with better avionics system and radars, however it can be for defence purpose and unable to go for massive attack.

IMHO, it's a No GO !! cuz Msia had a bad experience in maintenance it's Russian assets namely the Mig 29N & SU-30M & needed assistance from India (IAF). RMAF have no choice but to buy Su57. Manufacturers has stopped making parts for their mig29s, the dewan raykat not approving funds to buy parts for su30. They need to stick to Russian parts, because they spent so much money and effort to train the retiring technicians to read the Russian manuals. The downside for this is that, Su57 is expensive, how many can they buy? Remember that they will need to buy X amount to be used for parts. If replacing the MKM30s is the plan, then there will only be 1 squadron and another 4-6 for parts. I wonder why RMAF is taking this route when they have a easier option to acquire the 30 F18 from Kuwait. They are tested and proven, parts available, more versatile mission configs. And cheaper to own and maintain.

Ahh come on internet just enough of this BS. This kind of videos clearly were made by people with very little or no information about geopolitics and how foreign/defense policy of a country, in this case Malaysia works. I remember when we were searching for a LCA candidate many people suggested yak-130 or even mig35 and while Indians on the other hand pre-claimed the victory by saying that the Malaysia chose Tejas mk1 fighters but it all turns out to be wrong. Malaysia chose fa50 block20 which is one of the most advanced LCA available in the market. Usually the air forces will choose a LCA as a training aircraft for their current or next MRCA planes that means the LCA and the MRCA fighters usually share many similarities. Base on the what we chose, I believe the idea of us buying any sort of Russian made aircraft be it su57 or any other fighter is close to zero. We have long moved on from purchasing Russian weaponry and we're even working with India now for purchasing of the related parts for our su30 and much much less with Russian if not at all. Base on what's available, I believe our next MRCA is gonna be no other than the Korean made kf-21 or f35, but base on what I found out, the fact that we gonna purchase up to 36 fa-50m fighters and it's also said that the final assembly of the aircraft is gonna happen in Malaysia, the next MRCA is most likely the locally assembled kf-21.

RMAF always screwed up the combination of fighter jets.... A single sqn is not enough to defend the entire country airspace. It must 'talk' with other aircraft effectively. You can't win a battle with one sqn.... The Mig 29, SU27 and the most misfit - F18 aircraft.... All these jets are old technology.... SU57 is capable but it can't win a battle for a country...
