I fought in Iraq twice and will say a huge mistake these armored columns made here was their dispersion. Way too close to one another. You can't do that on an open road in an urban environment. You especially can't bunch up once you start taking fire, you have to spread out. With more firepower all of these armored vehicles could've been taken out.
