It’s so crazy to see the role reversal of Ov being the old head and translating (very well at that) for the younger guys

I already know im going to miss watching Ovy so much in the NHL. Such amazing and exciting memories watching him his entire career. Im glad there is still time, but damn.... its comin.

You never know with Ovi. The guy has barely had any injuries his entire career, which is insane considering that he loves to play hard and hit hard! For all we know, he can end up playing another decade.

@@G3NK5T42 something tells me after he hits 900 goals hes going to go play a couple seasons with dynamo. Which i 100% dont blame him. But you may also be right of course. The only problem he has, is hes quite a bot slower now in a league that is full of speed. He will always have his absolute bomb tho. He could literally sit on the bench all game and roll out for the PP and still put up 25 goals a season.

@@ovechkin100 It's a good thing that like 75% of his Goals come from the one-timer at the top of the circle. As long as he has a playmaker that can find him and pass to him on that left side, he's going to score. Personally, I'm hoping that he plays long enough to hit 1,000 Goals. But then I think he will probably play a season or two in the KHL for Dynamo Moscow, assuming he moves back to Russia after he retires. I was a kid, growing up in LA, watching The Great One playing for the Kings, tying Gordie Howe and then beating him. I never thought anyone was going to ever come close to tying or beating Gretzky's 894. Now as an adult, it's almost inevitable that we'll get experience it happening and that's so damn cool. I wonder what all the Ovi haters will say about him then.

Time goes by Sooo fast. I remember Gretzky being a 21-22 year old chasing the points streak game by game. First thing I dis every morning was to read the sports section with breakfast before school to see if the streak was alive. He got to 51 games. 61 if you including the last ten games of the 80/81 season…but you don’t in hockey. Later Yzerman, Mario, Bure, Ovechkin. All kids. Now older than me or just a bit younger. 18 turns into 38 in a Flash. Gotta really enjoy your time in the NHL cause when it’s over your just any old anybody. We live for today. Not the stats of the past. Beating them though. What a thrill…at that moment. Then life goes on and others come along. If Bedard is for real he has a huge advantage vs ovie. He enters the league two full years younger. If he delivers these first two seasons he could have banked 100 goals at the same age ovie started. If he is for real he could have 500 goals before he is 29. If so anything is possible, but I believe ovie will forever hold the record at 900+ goals.
