We are a Nation of Legal Immigrants, not of the illegal immigrants. My great Grandparents arrived at Ellis Island from Italy in the late 1800's. I proudly hold my Grandfather's Military Funeral Flag in my arms! America is on the brink of Communism, and we soon must exercise our 2nd Amendment along with all of our Military, and may our Flag still be there. GOD BLESS DONALD J. TRUMP!

Thank you! I'm American and agree with you 100%. I love my country and am grieved by what has happened and is happening now. People are waking up and speaking up, and massive corruption and evil is being exposed, but only the intervention of God will turn this nation around! 2 Chronicles 7:14 in the Bible is still as relevant today as it was when it was written many centuries ago.

@@mckernan603 Canadians might not be us citizens but they are Americans - they reside in America (the continent) and certainly aren't British, or French as the French love to remind them... stupidly mind you, its their loss. They certainly aren't British, so its a silly distinction for the rest of the world really - Americans (Canadians, USA and nominally Mexico) are a mostly united people - lol after ww3 we will probably be one nation if any of us are left

Most of us were immigrants or our parents were, we are a melting pot of countries and cultures and that is what makes us great. All we ask is to come to the country right and not jump a border illegally which is unfair to russian immigrants like you that can't.

😅 I'm Native American🙈 I know this song by heart like many Americans my age😌 I would like to point out to you,some of the people this song refers to in the fort, they were not born here😁 it doesn't matter where you are born to be an American🤭 it's whether or not you take pride in 𝕓𝕖𝕚𝕟𝕘 an American😌 always have respect for other countries because we are all a mix of them but if you are really going to be an American be proud and support those who make you free

@@xaira1186 - Yup... I'm about 19% native American, and an Air Force vet. The flag means a LOT to me. I fly mine proudly at my home, and will never let anyone pull it down while I'm alive and kicking. Would I really lay down my life for what some claim is just a "piece of cloth"? You betcha! - PS - While growing up, I would proudly just tell people that I was part American Indian. Then some ignorant cusses started spreading the lie that the word "Indian" was part of some error by Christopher Columbus thinking he was in India. Wrong, wrong, wrong! An "Indian" merely refers to someone who is an indigenous person. When the first Europeans arrived in America, they CORRECTLY referred to the locals as "indian". Same goes for "India"... the people there were called "indian" for the same reason, even though their country was NOT called "India" at the time.

I have four brothers five males with myself. Four of us have served in the armed forces. We lost our oldest brother in Vietnam. I also have five sisters. Thank you so much for this great video. Remember, as our President Ronald Reagan stated, " “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.” Freedom is worth fighting for, and do not let corrupt politicians lie and scam it away from the American People.

What surprises me that in 2021, not 1814, people are making it a hobby, if not a living, spreading the crisis of racism that permeates every crack and crevice of our country. There isn't anything that people can say or do today that is not racist. They do their best to spread and keep the legacy of racism front and center. In my life, with the exception of the 1960s and 1970s, racism had become more an exception than the rule as people try to live their lives with their own problems and have no time to think of racism, but how to find a job, feed their family, pay their taxes, etc. I am White, but most of my friends happen to be Black, and I am far from the exception. Are some people racist? Of course. Are their Black Racists? There sure are. I would gamble to say there are more racist Blacks in America than Whites. But overall, out of 330 million people, the only crisis of racism you will find are from people trying keep it alive to score political points and for the News Media to make money -- even if they have to lie about it. Today, it is so stupid and ludicrous, you can't drink a cup of water without something being racist about it -- rather than spending the effort to report and talk about all the good things that have happened over the past 70 years regarding the dramatic reduction of racism in this Country. The difference (reduction) in racism between 1940 and 2021 are dramatic to say the least. Time to focus on more positive things that better mirror the truth.

It was "Fort McHenry" and there were 19 British ships and the shelling lasted for over 25 hours. But the Flag was special because it was an especially large "garrison flag during the war of 1812. The "Flag" still exists and was on exhibition at the National Museum of American History. Key's poem was written without music and was entitled "Defence of Fort M'Henry". The words were later set to the tune of "To Anacreon in Heaven" by John Stafford Smith and the words and the music became America's national anthem in 1931.

That very flag, is in the Smithsonian along with the hand written paper. For the five men that died and everyone that braced the pole, this is the single reason the flag never touches the ground. If you think about Russian and American relations. In both world wars we were allies, We never fought an open war between us and when cooler, more intelligent heads prevailed, we became more open to each other 👍❤️. That is one reason we like watching your reaction to history as much as we like learning of yours. Thanks for your time.

"The Polar Bear Expedition: The Heroes of America's Forgotten Invasion of Russia, 1918-1919". It's available at Amazon. I've read it. "Learn ur history rihgt"

@@ironseabeelost1140 u are technically right but how many ppl do u think out side of Russia knew the def between these places I really have a reading list of 157,342 items so this is on it at 1004 Yes i have that many other books, papers, court decisions etc to read and run a small farm which takes 12 hrs out of everyone of my days some days it takes 20hrs What I was doing was just reminding ppl that USA and USSR have been foes in a war

Eastern European immigrants have contributed greatly to the U.S.A.There should be more like Irina, rather than those who trespass. I absolutely love this country and it makes me sick to see what has and is happening here. People are starting to rise up against the MASSIVE corruption that has took over. I pray it isn't to late. Alot has died to protect The Constitution of this great land, and what they are doing are spitting right in their face. Oo just makes me so mad.

Irina if you came to America to be American, you are definitely welcome. America is the great experiment, a place were anyone wishing to live free and make their own fortune in life have a home and the opportunity. However there are people who come to America and want to change it to be more like wherever they came from, and others who live here and hate it. All I can say to those people is - Being American is like growing up in a large family... if they feel they have outgrown what America is, its time you move out.

I remember that when I was a child I knew the lyrics, I forgot it it high school, and a year ago I relearned it swearing to myself I will never forget it again. Also a quote from Ronald regan. “You can go to live in France, but you cannot become a Frenchman. You can go to live in Germany or Turkey or Japan, but you cannot become a German, a Turk, or Japanese. But anyone, from any corner of the Earth, can come to live in America and become an American.”

In the history of Europe and Britain, it was quite common for people persecuted in their own country to emigrate to Britain, France and Holland, where they could be protected and become citizens. And how do you think all the Jews got to those countries and to Poland and Lithuania, where they also became citizens. Amerikans appear to be those doomed to repeat history.

@@jimkirby9959 not sure I would extoll the virtues of Europe’s treatment of Jews. Most of European history is the opposite. Because pockets of history exist is by no means characteristic throughout history. What most people, including most Americans, don’t appear to realize is that we are the first country in history to include in founding documents the rights of man, protection against government power, checks and balances in our government to prevent overreach by other branches and federalism’s further protection. We are only “doomed” to repeat history because the worldwide radical left allied with the American radical left-a movement responsible for murder, mayhem and human flight worldwide, have gained power here.

Youre an american if you were born here or immigrated legally. You dont have to blindly go through life thinking your country is absolutely perfect and worshipping it as if its a god. Imo doing so is a problem no one ever progressed or became great, etc by thinking they are perfect. In fact theres plenty of historical evidence that shows the opposite. Take Russia back in Peter the Greats time when tsars were the mouth of god/chosen by god and the church had almost the same power and certain times had more. They thought their country at that time, was perfect, chosen by god, divine providence. That anything that wasnt like them was wrong and signs of sin. Because they were perfect, everything they did, everything about their society, culture was perfect and therefore nothing needed to change. Not only did nothing need to change but because they had this holier than thou they thought themselves the examples of the world. And western cultures, like western europe were evil and too far out there (cant think of the term but like when people thought classic rock was satanist and evil). They remained stagnant for years, as other countries developed much further, in human rights, technology, ideology, freedom, etc. Leaving russia in the dust in many places and causing strife in many areas both internally and in foreign affairs. Their military was crap leaving them to suffer raids of the Hans/huns?? Who would pillage and kidnap the woman to sell as sx slaves and kill their men and children and burn fields. Not to mention that killing wives was common place, serfs being worked to death like starving slaves etc. It is like comparing the England of today with England of the 1700s. Peter the Great was titled the Great not because he was a good person. He wasnt. He was a gross human who tortured his own son to death, both watching and participating in it over a paranoia that had no basis in reality. But he got the title great because he began to revolutionize russia, tbh it wasnt that much, (imo) but He built the navy, built towns, made them a military power, won many battles. There were still a lot of problems he never addressed because he was too busy playing war but it was a start that many russian leaders before didnt take. His best accomplishment was how he slowly took powers of governing from the church. The church was basically a branch of govt and often executed people, stole money from people, were like the most corrupt politicians of this era. And often had the same or more power than the tsar whom in the past the church had toppled siting divine right to do so whenever they felt like it or when the tsar tried to stop corruption. But peter began to separate that sort of power from the church. His descendants tried to push further, especially the wife of his nephew, catherine the second. Anyway just an example of why thinking your perfect can be harmful even to ourselves. If we think we are absolutely perfect than we stagnate and leave oursrlves open to societies whove advanced further than us.

America allowed people to live as men and women. Now the government claims people are citizens, or residents, or whatever else they can think of to put you as a dead entity under their authority instead of We the People, the creators of government.

Thank you for the enjoyment that I feel when watching your reactions. I grew up in a small town in Oregon and lived there all my life. The only time I was away from home was when I was drafted into the US Army. I went to Vietnam and received a disability and I live with that. But I love my country and was proud to serve in the Army. @@gregoryking8574 To say Americans treat Black's wrong is a very broad term. You're basically stating that everyone treats blacks wrong. Even blacks is a broad term we use as well as Whites. It's unfortunate we do have racial tension but that's like other nations, it's not only in the US. We can only better ourselves if we stop calling others black and white and address them as their actual former self, like Nigerians, South Africans, Mexicans, Polish, Russians, etc. Identity is key, preserving culture is key, but the ideal of America shouldn't be mixed with race because America was never a racial thing, buy an idea of Freedom. That's why quite a few people in the US Considers everyone Americans, even if they are not bord here.

YOUR “UNDER GOD” wasn’t in the anthem until the 1950’s. It was a political move meant to contrast “godless Russian Communism.” I am 74. I lived through the change as a young child. Please put your UNDER GOD back in your pants. It is very unbecoming.

This video makes me tear up every time I see it, I know the words and learned the meaning behind them at a young age. I’m a 55 year old US Army Veteran with a 24 year old daughter and a 2 year old Granddaughter now and they too know what the National Anthem means. Freedom isn’t free, it is paid for by the blood of those who fought for it, and by those still living to ensure we stay free. America is a NATION, not a ethnic type, there are Americans of many Nationalities. Being an American is holding to the Ideals of what America stands for. “Liberty, justice, and the persuit of Happiness. These things are self evident, that ALL men are created equal” To us Americans, well me at least, our Flag represents what America stands for, not what it has become, and yes I’d die before I let it fall.

WHenever I heard that anthem play I always get teary. It makes me so proud to hear it and since I severed in the US Air Force it makes me even prouder. While working at FT. Carson Army Post here in Colorado Springs, CO there's a ceremony at 5pm called Retreat were are supposed to come to a stop while driving or walking around on Post and come to attention and render respect to the flag. And since I am a veteran I can also render a military salute to the flag.

I'm German born to German parents. I now live in Texas and when I watched this video, it makes me proud living in America. It's the most touching and beautiful Anthem I have ever heard. I choke up every time I hear this song. Whenever I see this video played, I listen to it again and again. So far, every country that listen to it have the same impressing thoughts. Thank you so much for playing this. It does mean a lot to so many People. There are several other versions. I heard 4 others and I heard 10 others. There's a Retired Marine who went to a tea party. And he sang two additional versions many of us never heard. God Bless The World.

This was a beautiful and powerful video. I know parts of the story from history class back in school, but I didn't know the whole thing. Having been born and raised in the US, I learned the words at a young age and have never forgotten them because they mean so much to Americans as does the flag.

Love the song and story. If I remember correctly, the late Paul Harvey narrated the story. One detail omitted was the fact that the occasion of the song was our "War of 1812", _not_ the American Revolution. The Brits and you Russians probably remember a different war in the year 1812 -- against Napoleon.

@@patricksweeney1088 And the war had a number of twists. For example, one of the greatest battles of the war, the _Battle of New Orleans,_ was fought *AFTER* a treaty was signed, but before that news made it across the Atlantic Ocean.
