Check out the first in a long series of restoring a rusted out 1966 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. While at it, I also converted it to right hand drive! Link to the tools and materials I use: www.amazon.com/shop/the_snob

Just found your channel. You are doing great work. As a classic ACVW guy (66 sea blue beetle.71 sierra yellow 7 passenger sunroof deluxe bus and would love to find a pre 67 ghia!)myself you def got a long haul subscriber here!

Nice work, bro! I just picked up a 74 ghia (in Oregon!) and it’s got a ton of rust. Your video came at the perfect time!

Haha! Glad you got one. Oregon is a hard place on cars.

the best thing about old VW's is the fact you can buy brand new stamped floor pans and body panels for nearly all models because they are still that popular looking forward to seeing how it turns out. thumbs up and subbed.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it! Love that most parts are available for these old cars. The ghia has some parts that aren't available (except for later models), but I'll just make them.

Love seeing all the work others have done on there Ghias. I had to do most every thing you have done and I have never done body work before. Can't wait to follow along. I have a 69.

Thank you so much! It's a fun challenge for sure. These Ghias are a lot harder than bugs!

Wow, amazing work, the Bug looks great can’t wait to see the Ghia, I think you have to do the jobs yourself with the outrageous prices and finding someone who won’t rip you off, thanks for sharing.
@JeffsAuto15 ай бұрын
Thank you! And yes, doing it yourself is cheaper and no one is gonna care about your car more than you. So myself it is!

Looks like quite a project! I'm in Oregon so I know what you mean about rain and rust. I have a 73 Dodge Dart Swinger project waiting to start and there will be rust repair on that as well. I've been looking at channels like this to learn what to do and what tools I need. Good luck with your channel!

Thank you. And good luck to you. I'm here to answer questions when you have any.

Damn Jeff! great job mate! Wish you lived in Brisbane Australia. I'd get you to lend a hand with mine. It's a 61. I uploaded an ep on my channel of what I have to work with if you're interested. Unlike yourself I'll be working things out and learning as I go though. Looking forward to seeing more of this bud 👍

Too bad you didn't get some of that early work on video, but there's still a lot of work left to see. Can't wait to see how it goes.

You look like a good body man, why rt hand drive? I currently have a 68 ghia that i enjoy driving around town, it's my 6th one , good luck finishing it up.

Thanks! I just wanted the car to be different like my bug. Gonna have a RHD collection!
@spamanator6665 ай бұрын
Are these the same pan as Bug? If so then luckily so easy to find parts!
@JeffsAuto15 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, the pans are different. They are wider on a Ghia. But still easy to find them at any bug parts place.
