The circuit was originally like this but nih made a mistake in the updated version and thought it wouldn't matter because it seemed to work fine regardless.

I found that when I added one power draw on this circuit, the same thing happened in effect. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong until I simply just added a switch and turned it off and back on. Most times that fixed it, unless I was still in the same wrong "state" as you've shown here. Thanks for the fix man!

Seems like people still don't understand why you should use this. It is very straight forward. The power provided by solar and/or wind is not stable. In order to make reliable power systems some sort of power conditioning fail over needs to be setup in the most efficient way. the 8 components of the "Nih core" is the rust electrician community's best example of that solution. For further explanation: "The Nih Core is the modern version of, and replacement for, the OR/Blocker. When using an inline battery to power a circuit, there is a 20% loss due to the batteries inefficiency. Bypass battery backups, like the Nih Core, are not necessarily a way around this. Instead of a circuit being powered by the battery, the circuit gets power directly from the Wind Turbine while the battery gets charged with the excess. This excess may not be the full 20% but due to the cost of distribution and overcoming the small Active Usage from combining batteries, it can be most of it. The Nih Core will automatically switch over to the backup battery when the power source is not producing enough. The Nih Core becomes more efficient the more batteries it has. The simple explanation is when there is not enough power to meet a circuit’s requirements, it redirects the insufficient amount of power to the battery and activates it to take over powering the circuit. The reason the Nih Core becomes more efficient with more batteries is because we are bypassing the 20% hit from an inline battery and we don’t care about the battery’s Active Usage. We are bypassing the battery therefore removing any restrictions or conditions caused by it." www.rustrician.io/wiki/powerstorage.html#nih-core You are not getting the same benefits from 3 branches, or switches or blockers alone. Regardless of system size I would recommend you build this easy fail over circuit in every system you have. Just accept that this is the best way to power your base, and thank Austin for his effort, time, and consideration to helping the rust community.

Do you have a rustitrician graphic for this big core? Learning lots, thank you! I’m looking forward to nih core with battery backup

We need a setup above 100!!!! limiting your root power (ie. i have 3 turbines combined) because i need that amount and have a battery backup of the same capacity and not have the stuff draining from all 3 at once. (the parallel issue)

there is a smaller version of the ni core with just 3 branches ... whats wrong with that ?

So ahh, i have a scenario where both sides are sending power and yet, the battery is charging but it now flicks between saying i have 400h 00m 00Sec and 400h 59m 59s of power...

Can you make turret circuit for 24 turrets? I mean when one turret is down another one will be powered up

Can you make a video showing HOW to put this together? I'm having trouble following along because I don't even know how to put it together.

I can’t get the Nih core to stop using 100 battery power. I’m on Xbox. Only way it’s possible is to lower the power output on the electrical branch from the battery, but then I don’t have enough power when it switches over.

Yep, the OR Switch doesn't behave the same on console so you won't be able to use this until your update comes out. Check out the old version of the Nih Core. That should work for you.

Sure would be great if you would actually link to how to build it in the first place instead of me having to run around the internet and settling on another source

Not sure what the advantages of this new method are, I’m Still using the old setup with OR and a blocker without problems. I must be missing something.

He says in the previous video where the nih core update is introduced that the old one works fine, the update just gets rid of the splitter and blocker and so it's a little easier/cleaner/cheaper to setup.

Same here, this “nih core” looks far more complex compared to my usual 2 branch, 1 blocker and a or switch. They appear to do the same exact thing?
@iamallama81
@iamallama81 3 ай бұрын
@@SJMILLER121 Same thing, just updated. This is actually simpler in that you add a branch, but get rid of the blocker and splitter. As he said in the other video, the branch on top right isn't really needed, but was in the design and so he left it.

@@iamallama81how’s it simpler? He uses 7 items in this. 2 branches, 1 blocker and 1 OR switch is simpler In my opinion
