The earlier you understand this, the earlier you will be able to understand why Georgia has been constantly threatened not by a nation or ethnic, but by a whole faith and why is still st danger surrounded by muslims. Understand what azeris are doing nowadays to the defenceless armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia itself. They want them to disappear and after the one who will disappear it's you over the turkic muslim supremacy.

I've looked for a very long time to find this very beautiful music. I first heard it used in Parajanov's fantastic film 'The Colour of Pomegranates'. If you haven't seen it get out there and buy the DVD and have your senses overloaded in the best possible way.

We sing this melody for the Cherubic Hymn at church. It is the most beautiful one we do and I love singing it. The angels could sing this, it's that lovely.

It is a hymn to the Mother of God, comparing her to a garden. Wikipedia has a translation of the complete lyrics. Shen khar venakhi

Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it survived the the Russian power oppression due to the fact that GOD is not mentioned in it, is known to have healing powers, originally from Georgia

This is the Cherubic Hymn which as part of the Divine Liturgy is sung (chanted) during the Great Entrance (a procession). Last week we had a wedding and during the Betrothal Service (rings are exchanged at this point in the back of the Church). This version of the Cherubic Hymn was chanted so beautifully by a small group of chanters.

This is NOT the Cherubic Hymn. Wikipedia has the lyrics. It is often sung during a wedding service and sometimes at Communion.

There are two versions of this piece, this one I believe is the Kartli-Kakhetian one, or the East Georgian.
