In this new series, I'll be discussing and following the latest news and updates for the 2024 wildfire season. As many of you know, the season kicked off much earlier this year as dry conditions and extreme temperatures continue to bake many pockets of the country. If you happen to live in one of these wildfire prone areas, there are preventative measures that you can take to ensure the safety of you and your loved ones.

i watched a recenr news report and all around were melted cars homes bathtubs... and yet behind him were two large beauiful untouched trees none of thar seems natural.

Rusty, I watched a video a few days ago, that a tribe of Natives in Monterey County have purchased several thousand acres there, but they didn't say exactly where, so I did ask in the comments - it looks like extreme south county, like near Carmel Valley, Arroyo Seco or maybe Los Padres National Park areas. The Natives said they will use fire like their ancestors did, with seeing fires for preventative measures, like California State used to buy don't for strange reasons...?

Not only Canada … Alaska!!! We are still part of the US but I guess people don’t get that. As of 2 p.m. Thursday, there were 155 active wildfires statewide with two new starts in the past 24 hours. So far, 330 fires have burned 584,309 acres across Alaska in 2024. The biggest fire is the McDonald fire with 172,000 acres burned only a few miles away where I live. I guess we will only make national news when our oil pipeline would be in danger and you all get cut off from the oil we deliver to the lower 48.

I hear ya...I used to live in Alaska. My father lived there. Back in the day I was the bookkeeper at Boniface Chevron in Anchorage. Before self serve. Thank you for the update. I still have many friends in the gorgeous State of Alaska. Stay safe!!🙏🙏👍

"We are still part of the US" After Russia sold Alaska to America, Alaska has always been a U.S. state unless Alaska had an "Alask-exit" or something which could cause disruption between the states. Texas also seems to be interested going solo and theirs is known as Texit.

Wow! That’s a lot!!! And on top of I’ve I’ve heard in Alaska, the roots of a tree will smolder and move underground and the come up and start a fire somewhere else

I was traveling to Nipomo and i saw a giant wave of fire jump over the Mountains! I swear they got to have people clear out the Brush and do controlled demo or goats.

Well, we saved the trees by going to plastic bags now threes have plastic in them so when they burn plastic is burning also, isn't that great and in California they quit logging and now their growing pot and the lumber is going to waste, can't get any better than that!
