McCollum has actually been rough as hell this year from a scoring perspective. Sub 40% from the field, 33% from 3. He's been Ok I would say as a playmaker and PBH, and his defense has actually been solid. But overall I don't think he deserves top 50 recognition at this moment. This coming from a Pelicans fan. I basically agree with most of this list. Of course there’s a few positions I would change around. Specifically DeRozan, Edwards, and CP3 being slightly to high for me, specifically DeMar. Also Jaylen Brown is pretty underrated. And while CJ is thriving bringing the ball up the court being more of a pg, he’s relatively inefficient. In fact he’s shooting sub 40% from the field, and subpar from three (granted on 6 attempts, but still could be better) so personally I would’ve put him a little lower. Also I would’ve put Jerami Grant and Jarrett Allen in place of Green and Cunningham. But other than a few nitpicks this list is great. Good job Rusty! EDIT: just checked the pin and you mentioned this so nvm

My main takeaway is that the NBA is historically talented right now. I get that the NBA is pretty offense-friendly at the moment but so many of the players ranked in the 20-50 range would have been perennial all-NBA players years ago. Exciting times.

They are an interesting team, especially to NBA fans that enjoy watching more than just their own teams. There are so many games though and so many interesting teams, I think the heat just got a bit lost in the shuffle to be really popular. They do not have an exciting young star (unless you count Herro), or a spectacular offense and they aren't winning enough games. If they do, it is through grit, hard work and defense. I think only the most dedicated basketball fans (and ofc Heat fans) are in to watch that a lot.

I would personally have Kyrie in my top 10 but the lowest I can go, unbiased, is 15. Everyone from 14 down (or up depending how you interpret it) has a legitimate case, but Kyrie is better than 15-19 on your list. Easily.

I would like to say Shai does have a three pointer he just doesn’t get to shoot them, his three is either a step back or a pull up when he gets a little bit of space and he doesn’t get to shoot them a lot because the defense is focused on him
@schuylersavage276
@schuylersavage276 Жыл бұрын
Has nothing to do with that. He can get his 3 off whenever he wants. The reason he has grown so much this year is because he is playing to his strengths . He is better at so many other things than the 3, and so while he can shoot them and hit huge ones, he isn’t letting conventional wisdom impact his play. He is doing what is the most efficient and effective moves for HIM. And it’s gigantic for him. He is doubling and tripling down on driving to the basket for finishes and fouls and his tough short mid range floaters and bump fades. But I agree, he definitely can shoot the 3, but it is a much less efficient shot for him. It’s bailing out the D because no one can really stop him for inevitably getting injured to his spot closer to the hoop. I love it. I love players who don’t try to prove something by making shots people say they can’t make, and instead just play the game that’s best for them

As all NBA fans, we like making these lists and this one is not bad at all. At least all the players on here are currently (or formerly) top NBA talents, so Rusty-man has done a succesful job, with (as always) quality narration overall. Now for the criticism, which was to be expected; let's start with the names I'm missing on the list: Jarett Allen - As you mentioned, he is the most impactful defender on the Cavs and a perfectly fine offensive center too. Jeremi Grant - He has been low-key one of the most complete players in the league, like a younger version of PG. Great defense, can score efficiently from anywhere and can carry a heavy load when other stars are missing. Wiggins - Somewhat similar to Grant as a player, he doesn't look as gifted as Jeremi Grant, who has beautiful form, but he is almost as effective. Great from 3 (especially this year), probably one of the best, most versatile defenders and a great mentality overall. He works insanely hard during his minutes on the court and impacts every game. Brook Lopez - Probably an underrated pick for most people, but he has one of his best defensive seasons yet. He is averaging nearly 3 blocks a game, while still being effective on offense. Finally, Ingram should be higher. If you follow the Pels, you know their succes in the last games has not been as dependant on him but on Zion for a change. Zion has been great, his gravity due to his scoring prowess and matchup nightmares, combined with his playmaking and decisionmaking make for a fantastic and hard to stop combination. Ingram is exactly like that, while not as much of a matchup nightmare as Zion, he can litterally light it up from anywhere and has even better playmaking and decisionmaking out of those double or triple teams he faces. Like Rusty said, his defense is also way better and so far he is shooting a scorching 46.7% from three. The main reason I think he should be high, is that his offense always works. Unlike a lot of other people on this list, that can get slowed down a whole lot, he and Zion fits that mold of player that always seem to find their shot, or an open teammate. This is exactly why Luka is so good, or even Curry, they are not just insane scorers themselves, they see the floor and find the open man when they are doubleteamed. It is stretchable offense, it works even against good defenses and holds up even in the playoffs.

No wiggins is kinda crazy, he’s averaging 19/5 on 51/45 splits with elite defence. Phenomenal efficiency and defence, consistently comes up in big moments, he’s definitely a top 50 player.

I’ve been watching 40ish regular season Bucks games and all Bucks playoff games for the last two seasons. Still don’t understand why this “Giannis has no bag” talk keeps happening Is his primary method of dominance his physical gifts? Yes but he’s far from the first superstar to do that and even today and recent times he isn’t the only one Does Giannis sometimes see red and revert to just using his physical gifts rather than the skills he has developed in the last few years? Yes, but again that happens
