I love your explanation of calf sharing. I was raised on a farm and we milked morning and night and let the calves have the last of the milk. I remember numerous times when our cows had mastitis. We only bottle fed if we had too. Your explanation actually seems so much better in the long run. I have neighbors who wean calves and they are noisy. I now understand why you bottle feed. Thanks for the life lesson we need.

This was so amazing to watch. We have calf shared and have a cow in labor as I type! We may still move forward with the way we have handled cows and calves thus far. But watching this was like sitting with a mentor! I learned so much about what to expect in timing for birth and afterbirth and calves standing and even milking and the length of time for a mama to have colostrum!
