This is where he needs to be, so that he reaps from his own mistakes. Asijishikanishe na Kanisa, juu he deceived the Church, na asijishikanishe na opposition, coz the mess was his. Let him now bear his own cross.

Politicians will learn to make practical promises. He got himself there. The tongue is such a small organ but it can cost a lot when used wrongly.

I don't think we'll see different TYPES of people even if we see new faces. Ruto is a product of two generations of Kenyan politics starting his career under Moi in 1992 (Youth for Kanu 92 aka YK 92). He came of political age in a system that caters to political tribal king/queen pins who bring their clients votes to support those who've rewarded them with Cabinet or parastatal positions. He knows no other kind of politics since that type of politics has always worked. He has not had to learn anything new. But the Gen Z segment of our society are putting that political calculus on its head. There is no tribal leader, community leader, religious leader who can turn around and say “we" are content. It's democracy as it should be practiced and not as it has been. Ruto is SOL as he came to power when this generation came of age when this type of politics may no longer work. Only time will tell but it seems that assuaging one person purporting to represent the interests of a community won't work anymore.
