In today's episode, we're heading to Lake Scott State Park near Scott City, Kansas! We found this place last year when we were just DESPERATE to get out of the house and do something! It also inspired the path we're taking now. So it's only fitting that we came back here, but this time armed with cameras! This place is all about serenity... Except for the loud partiers across the lake, but hey, they're just having fun and I can appreciate that. We do some fishing (not bad), do some hiking, visiting the Steele homestead and some ancient Pueblo ruins! And on the way home, we visit the Punished Woman Fork and the Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site. Lots of somber history in this episode, but we should never forget the darker chapters of history... So that we never repeat them. Our RV life is shaping into something infectious... I hope it inspires you too! Anyway, until the next episode... Safe Travels, Happy Camping, and CHEERS!

Just because you see no value in it doesn't mean someone else doesn't. Perhaps my videos aren't your "cup of tea". But thanks for watching anyway.

Enjoyed the video, but why the ominous, evil music around 5:50 when you're showing the beautiful park?? It had me expecting to come upon a crime scene.

I had to go have a look to see what you're talking about. Now that I've heard it from that perspective, I can't "un-hear" it. I figure I chose it because, at the time, my catalog of royalty free music was very limited, and the music kinda had a calmness and mysteriousness to it. I was going for tranquil... not crime scene. But you're absolutely correct. Now that you've pointed it out, I'll never see it the same. 😂 It's gonna make for some great jokes in the future. Thanks for watching! CHEERS!

Kansas to drive through at least along the I-35 was boring. But this looks a like a different part of Kansas. Kansas still has the turnpike right? The park/campground looks nice!! I also agree you could break these down to 10 minutes videos think it might help keep people watching longer? Like your camera work and video editing Jay!! Also congrats on breaking 10K!!

Thanks for watching, Zax. And thanks for the feedback. I actually tried shorter versions before making them longer. But you just can't immerse yourself in the "10 minute version" of a travel story. The shorter versions felt rushed and left A LOT out. I know 20 to 30 minutes is a lot to ask of an audience, but the audience that likes travel videos also likes them longer... And that's the audience I'm going for.

I'm glad you like them. Thank you so much. As for shorter videos... Like I said to Zax, I actually tried making them shorter when I was editing the first one. It was a disaster. You just can't immerse yourself in the "10 minute version" of a travel story. The shorter version felt rushed and left A LOT out. I know 20 to 30 minutes is a lot to ask of an audience, but the audience that likes travel videos also likes them longer... And that's the audience I'm going for. CHEERS!

Your roads were amazing! But don't sell Kansas short. I know there's lots of places in Kansas like Lake Scott, and don't forget all the historical places. Kansas has a lot to offer travelers if you just look for them. I think too many people are too quick to dismiss Kansas because they think it's all just farms and cows. Thanks for watching and leaving a great comment!

I do this drive a few times a year, yea the roads in Co. are horrible, Kansas roads are all freshly paved and painted. I guess that legalizing pot didn't create enough revenue for Co. so in Denvers wisdom they artificially increased property taxes which in turn increased revenue, largest tax increase in Colorados history. That would be 1876. I as a resident haven't received ANYTHING in return. About done with this state, too bad the radical lib's have done this just like Calif. Az. coming to a state near you soon.

The beauty of this state is what keeps me hanging on, but you're right. Been seriously considering Idaho, Utah, or Northern Arizona... But this is my home. I want to stay and fight for the state I love but I fear the fight is already lost. Anyway... Cheers and thanks for watching!
