A freezer hint from another channel is to get a dollar store cheap plastic place mat and cut it to fit the back of your freezer when you're done defrosting put the place mat against the backwall the next time you go to defrost you'll be able to just pull the plastic off of the back of the wall and all the ice will come with it

Loved exploring with you today! The little town at the beginning looks so cute! It's great that you let viewers know 'how to' support you. Few non-content creators realize the difference they make in how they watch a video. By skipping, leaving early...not giving it a like or leaving a comment all takes away from our videos. Thanks for putting it out there!

You should never use a knife to get the ice out of a freezer, especially if you can see metal tubes. There's this stuff called freeon and if you puncture the tube you might as well buy a new freezer

That was a great relaxing video. I love just sometimes doing nothing but exploring. My family doesn't quite understand what I do everyday all day long out in the woods. But I finally realized that they don't have to understand. My dog Maddie and I spend lots of time out taking pictures and movies and then I edit them into a full movie with music and have a movie night with my Mom when I'm home. I'm still caregiving to her. She's 91 years old and still loves to remember her times when she and Dad use to hike the AT and taught my brother and I all about the out of doors. I hope to one day travel West again and catch up to you. Maybe in one of your meet ups. Always looking forward to your next video. Blessings, Teri Hope

A simple and CHEAP way to help defrosting the freezer in you rv is to purchase a plastic placemat at at the Dollar Tree and place it against the back of your freezer compartment. When it’s time to defrost just pull it off from the corner and ice comes off in one - or many many pieces. No need to risk puncturing the freezer walls with sharp objects. Happy travels.

My freezer tip is use a rubber mallet to break up the ice. Especially useful for freezer drawers or items jammed frozen into it. Excellent for in between cleans. The rubber mallet is also useful for making frozen food like peas or corn separate in the packet.

Next time you have to defrost the freezer you might try what I've used successfully in the past. Boil a pot or two of water. if you have a roasting pan, put it on the shelf in the freezer and pour in the hot water then close the door. If you don't have a roasting pan, just put the pot(s) on the shelf and close the door. I usually put a sheet pan on the bottom, with a towel underneath, to catch the ice/water. You don't have to wait for the hot water to defrost all the ice, but it will give you a jump start on breaking the chunks off. The diy generator shelter was ingenious!

Agree with @Michelle Davis about using boiling water to defrost freezers. 👍 We had two refrigerators with the tiny freezer compartments (1/2 gallon ice cream + 2 ice cube trays) until I was 9. Then I had refrigerators similar to yours (separate compartments) in apartments 1967 to 1970. First thing I bought for my first house (needing a lot of work!) was a frost-free refrigerator/freezer. A girl has to have standards, ya know! 🙃 Your generator shelter is terrific! And playing ball with Sadie in the bedroom on a rainy day looks like a regular activity! Has she ever considered playing soccer? She's pretty good with the head pass! ;-) You are sounding a lot better. Thank goodness! :-) ... Teale 🏜️

When you put the wooden stakes in the ground, do it at an angle, with the top pointed away from the direction the rope is coming from. That way your rope can’t slide off and it won’t pull out of the ground as easy either.

We all need to do our part. The bees need our help too! Carolyn, that creek is a reason for me to realize how much I need and want to slow down. Thank you for taking that walk and showing us that amazing running water. Just the sound of it soothes the soul. Someday, after vanlife travels, I would like to settle somewhere like Kentucky. Cortez..... my girlfriend and I got tickets there at a crosswalk on our motorcycles one summer. It was a set-up. I was just ahead of her, no one was in the cross walk but as I went thru it a person stepped off & started yelling at us. It was an undercover cop. As we were at the laundromat later, we read a newspaper that said it was a sting. We had to pay $85 each or come back in a month to court. They knew we couldn't do that since we were on vacation from MICHIGAN! Lol. Lesson learned.
