So how much does it really cost to full time RV for a year? In this video we share what our RV living costs were for the year, what we spent, how we budgeted, and all our unexpected expenses! Along with a detailed breakdown of our monthly expenses and annual totals by category whether it be lodging, gas, car/RV maintenance and repairs while working remotely with jobs and filmmaking as KZfaqrs.

Excellent video! I appreciate the way you broke everything down by category. We are going full time in 14 months when my husband retires. We already have our truck and trailer and will be doing some short trips this year to "practice" and get familiar with our trailer. Keep up the great videos!

Very helpful! We RVd across the country this past summer and spent a lot of money but it was worth it. The experience of rving is amazing nothing like it. That's awesome! We still believe there's nothing more affordable than RVing to travel this country "at length" and see so much. Airbnb or motel hopping would just cost a fortune. I'll spend money on experiences over things any day. All the.best!

Great recap of the year, thanks. I can't wait to start my adventure, but unfortunately Winnebago moved my delivery date from February to May 😞 I just moved back from Europe in July and have been out of the US for 17 of the last 20 years, so ready to explore. I need to make new memories since I lost my wife last year to GBM. We were going to sell everything and RV in Europe, but she got sick and plans fall to the wayside. She'll always be my co-pilot as I create new memories. Enjoy your travels, enjoy each other and it seems you already don't sweat the small stuff. That’s a great wrap up. We’ll be moving slower next year, too. One of my favorite things to do in a new area is to scan for local channels and watch the local newscasters and weather reporters. It gives me new view and tips on the area. Try out that TV sometime when your not moving so fast. Happy Travels.

Awesome video, really informative thanks! For the internet situation, Google Fi provides unlimited WiFi HotSpot data, it uses AT&T and T-Mobile, depending on which has a better signal. I work remote now a days and it's saved me so much headaches when traveling. Cheers, keep up the great content.

Definitely a tire fund for trailer tires. Good Year endurance tires have done me very well. Considering you were using a 1/2 ton suv I think you all did very well not having bigger expenses that's alot of weight to move around. Last your attitudes are great . Stay healthy, stay happy!

My fiancee and I have been planning to be full time RVers for years but health issues have delayed us. We are getting RV finally in July and we will be starting our journey then. It's a different way to do it but we thoroughly enjoyed the comforts and security that come with RV parks. Definitely less "budget friendly" but we were happy to make the investment! Cheers!

You can full time RV cheaper if you learn to boondock and take advantage of dispursed camping. Staying in RV or campgrounds are very expensive. You might as well buy a house and owe the related expenses; insurance, taxes extra...

Hi enjoying your channel. I live in Idyllwild and refinanced this year so house payment went from $1,400 to $1,200. So what you did on lodging isn’t to much different. Except we wouldn’t go full time probably so we would still have our mortgage too. Anyway it was really good how you explained everything! I saw you enjoyed a sandwich at Sherman’s, but did you try their famous coconut pie 🥧?

This is incredibly helpful as my husband and I consider full time RVing!! Thank you! I've watched several similar videos from other people and this one has been one of the most informative, honest and organized. But maybe that is because I really enjoy watching you guys. You guys are definitely my fave. I am curious, you guys mention your regular jobs for income, as hard as you guys work on your videos and the quality of them, does it produce any revenue for you? Any tips for getting started with youtube and creating a following? (I plan to look through the comments to see if this has been asked and answered before because I'm sure you get tired of answering the same question over and over...but just in case). You guys rock! Look forward to seeing what 2022 brings for you guys and hope to run into you guys in an RV park along the way one of these days. =)

Hi Kelsi! KZfaq can turn in to a serious income but I always recommend having a job or two on the side until it starts to become lucrative enough to quit your side job and move into it full time. The other option is to have a large nest egg saved up to give yourself a cushion to try it out. We have recently quit our.side jobs to go all in on KZfaq. My best tip with KZfaq is to not change when the camera is rolling (because otherwise it will always feel like effort and work). Find something of value to others that you have expertise on or can share in a really entertaining way, and then deliver that with your own unique charisma and personality. Make it about the people you are serving, rather than about yourself. It can keep you from getting self-conscious or nervous on camera as well. Your editing and storytelling with gradually improve with time, that will never stop. Don't take criticism personally but also be open to legit feedback. The first couple years are all about focusing on the craft itself of video making. Hope that helps! Good luck!

Upgrade your trailer's battery bank to Lithium batteries if you haven't yet. Then install 600 to 800 watts of solar with a 50 amp solar charge controller. Next time out do more boondocking and less campground or RV parks.

One thing that I just thought of when you were talking about your expensive equipment. The door keys on campers are almost generic I find. I’ll bet if you tried your key on 10 different campers, your key would work in at least one other camper. Change your lock out.

Our most unexpected rv expense….1995 Ford F 350 power stroke with the E4OD transmission. Transmission gave way 4 times pulling a 4000lb travel trailer over our years of ownership and left us stranded each time. I suppose after the 2nd transmission it wasn’t so unexpected…but still I was brand loyal to a flaw for ferd..after the 4th transmission we bought a brand new 2008 Ram 3500 Cummins dually with the 68RFE and have had zero probs since. 130,000 miles later and pulling a Grand Design 310GK now.

Really enjoy following your adventures & getting ideas. I got hit with $160 on IL tolls too (their skyway by downtown is a hefty fee for a trailer). All their toll booths say to go on ILtollway website to pay within 10 days. I did that & wrote down all the toll exit #'s of where I went through. Went on to pay & their system said "can't calculate this route." It doesn't work if you do multiple tollways there in one day. I emailed them explaining the issue. We have open road tolling in CO where we just get a bill each month showing everywhere we went & total due. IL appears to have this too, since they make it tough to pay, but once you owe more fees, they can then send you a total showing everywhere you went. They should show this to you from the start & make it easy to pay. A friend told me to wait until Dec. Apparently, they waive all late fees for overdue tolls in Dec. I didn't want to risk it & just paid it.

No joke on gas here in CA. We live in La Jolla (san diego) and today gas was $6.48 a gallon. Ugh! Great video. My husband and I are looking into taking a year to explore the US and find a beautiful state out of CA.

Illinois tolls are a scam! My wife and I took our honeymoon last year and drove through 20 states from California to Illinois to see her family. Our two tolls totaled $9, and they sent us a bill for $27. Then we couldn't fight it even after trying so that was just a racket. It's the principal more than the actual money. Great video you two! So my wife and I, along with our 19m old and 6m old are considering getting a travel trailer as she is a travel nurse and are paying over 3k a month on airbnb's. Her contracts are typically 3 months so we wouldn't be moving around too much. Any tips for us?

My wife and I drove to marathon Florida from Delaware and back….spent $70 in tolls and most of the fees were from Florida.

Usually you can still call ipass in Illinois and they will waive the fines.

Hey Felix! We have! And we would have gotten it last year but so many places that we asked if they still did it had stopped so we just never went through with it. Not sure if it was covid or what. But it's totally worth it if an RV park takes it. Their 50% deal is awesome!

We're spending that much because we're moving frequently, like every week or so. That's why we're seeing so much of the country. It's the most affordable way to travel the USA "at length" with basic comforts met. Cheers!

We are retired, yes. ballers rolling in funds, no. we did it early cuz we (she) probably won't make it long enough to really enjoy it if we waited till 65, and we've been and are committed to do some volunteering with state parks and national forests to remain living this life (we love the parks!!) sooooo, we're quite old school and really nervous about PayPal etc. Gonna see if I can purchase a gift card visa and use it on patreon??? is this a thing? Unless I am going to Chicago, I don't go near it. as for that ticket, ugh. I live on east coast and I always go though Indy to avoid all tolls from the east, if you know where to go

Hi y'all, how you doing. Hey I was told that when I went Rving I would save sat least 60% of what I was paying per month on my home and all. Thats not really true, I was spending around 1300 a month and now Rving I spend on average 1,100 to 1,500 so not saving much at all. so, I'm with you when you said, a lot of those who are saving money stay out boonedocking most of the time.
