It was good except Rw9 lost.. which highly upset me. I've been such a huge fan of Rw9 since he first hit the scene, his defense was so clutch and I'm a big fan of a good defense as I think the best offense is a good defense which rw9 proved to be the case, but he just folded so many times this series. Getting flicked on like crazy, getting air dribble bumped, and just ultimately getting faked out of his mind. Seems the composure just isn't all the way there like I was expecting. Mawkzy really made him look 2nd best in this series and I'm honestly highly disappointed. Rw9 just didn't perform as well as he could've and that was just a big let-down for me.

And if it should be anyone it makes sense it's mawkzy, he's had his number on occassions ever since they started clashing. Mawkzy played out of his mind too, respect to him, but despite winning honestly Rw9 was looking more threatening up until the very last seconds of the game. I don't know how to describe it but there's this aura of inveitability around this guy that makes him look absolutely terrifying at all times. Dude just seems like an unstoppable force even when losing. It's insane how deep Mawkzy has to go with the mindgames and strats just to have a chance to beat this guy in game 7. Can't imagine how exhausting it must be to play against _perfection personified._ Love when these 2 play more than any other type of RL content, watching Zen is a blast too but Rw9 vs Mawkzy is just the battle of ages written in the stars. They don't 1v1, they dance and it's an absolute beauty to watch.

Rw9 was definitely shitting himself as soon as he committed to the wall and was probably expecting a low 50 cause that's what most players would have done but mawkzy was a step ahead. Genius

In my opinion, Zen overused the flicks against Rw9 for the same disappointing result because of what you're saying

he found the best counter: waiting and double jumping, he did it at least 4 times, even for the series winner goal. Absolute class

Mawkzy is a tilter. No doubt he went down 0-3 in that game and mental boomed. He played out most of the rest of that match to find the right headspace to continue the series. Getting the first goal on him in the last game didn’t help his mental state, but since it was the last, he managed to not let it affect him

Yeah I was so surprised when Johnny opened the channel pool and chat went like 80/20 or something stupid like that in favor of rw9, people forget how Unstopable mawkzy is when he’s in the zone and he doesn’t go all in like zen, which counters rw9’s defense much more effectively

Rw9 is not the best at create his shots. He has a tremendous defense that allows him a lot of open (like against Zen aerials plays)

But I think I do know - It's a combination of him hitting the ball with the point between the corner bumper of his car, combined with the front wheel, while he's holding the drift button and flipping at the same time. Sorta like how those baseball-shooting machines work like - creating pace from rotations in different directions.. To master that is a hell of a lot harder than to master the flicks Mawkz can pull off tho.

Agree, not an odd take at all. River is either trolling or not the sharpest knife in the drawer, lol. I will say Zen has demonstrated that he can adapt in series, just not enough to beat rw9 as of yet. But when you compare their results against other players, it's extremely one sided in zen's favor. Rw9 has lost to like 6 people, and has lost multiple series to some of them, whereas Zen hasn't lost to anyone other than Rw9

Ur vertical momentum isn't completely nullified instantly while flipping, but it slows down rapidly thus with his vertical momentum he was able to get the wavedash in that position.

They both are insanely good and have more or less the same amount of wins against each other in matches like that. But I agree that out of all his games, this one was the last one to call Rw9 boring. Like he was varying his shots so much it was really cool to see, and his defense is mind blowing

Agree with snape, I don't think anyone realistically has mawkzy top 2 in the world. Although I will say I think it goes Zen > Rw9 > Daniel > Yan/Mawkzy/Trk, etc. Rw9 has shown that he can beat Zen, but he's also shown that he can lose to daniel, mawkzy, and various other players. Think it's just a case of Rw9 countering zen's playstyle extremely well but not being as good of a player overall, which you can see when you compare their results against everyone else: zen beats every other player, whereas rw9 loses to several of them

@@baller7387 Yep, I had Trk/Yan around that #4 spot but neither have been overly active in 1s of late, Yan lost to Daniel (albeit by a single OT goal) and Trk lost to Mawkzy the last time they played. I do think Zen is closer to Rw9 for #1 than Daniel is to Zen in #2, then another big gap to the #4 spot.

@@baller7387I think you need to remember Zen is grinding 1’s.. this is RW9, who’s just finished a 3’s tournament as the mvp in Saudi. If RW9 decided to grind 1’s I think he’d hands down been the best in the world.

It's possible that rw9 might be better if he were grinding 1s or it's possible that he'd be playing at the same level he is now. The reality is he lost to mawkzy and he's lost to mawkzy plenty of times in the past when he was grinding 1s. So I don't think it's certain that he'd be noticeably better if he were grinding, particularly given how high of a level he's already at, diminishing returns, etc. Either way, for me zen is better at the moment.

They've played each other twice recently in showmatches/tournaments and Zen won them both 3-1, it didn't even look close.
