Something I really like about these world of remnant videos is that they parallel what Qrow stated at the end of Volume 3; he's picking up where Ozpin left off, that is he's narrating after Ozpin had.

Am I the only one who noticed when he said in the first episode " _you got some towns and villages that pop up as fast as they fall_ " that there where several settlements on the Northwestern Dragon Island that immediately vanished?

+Swarley Underhill In regards to your mini theory about Taiyang, the paiting is probaly just a bit of art that originated form the world leaders on, well art. Though it is possible that his situation is similar to Weiss's (going to another Kingdom's acedemy).

I noted an interesting fact. Despite Crow never talking about it, there was still some house icons on the dragon shaped continent. So it IS if fact, at least to an extent, populated.

If Tay is from Mistral he had to do it like Pyhrra as we know he studied at Beacon. As for the villages Windpath is actually first mentioned in the Card game from vol 2.

I only had one small gripe and that was the Imagery of Mistral. From most of the characters we have met from Mistral, I would have thought, Mediterranean cultures, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and maybe Egypt. Because most of the characters from Mistral were portrayed as such. (Pyrrha, Sage, Neptune, Arslan, Reese). But the portrayal they did was very Oriental, very Japanese, and Chinese, influenced that makes it feel weird. I'm hoping as we travel further inwards towards, Mistral and Haven Academy that we can see the areas that would influence Pyrrha's design.

It's a big continent so I think there is a good chance of seeing those other influences. I'm thinking that Pyrrha and the others might be from one of the outlying cities mentioned here. :)

Neptune is based of one of the guys from BIG BANG design wise. The one with blue hair in the fantastic baby video (Pretty sure all of Team SSSN is based off a k-pop star one way or another. Like Scarlet being a red-headed G-dragon or something? Are these people?). Also, Arslan's design looks like it was heavily inspired by Japanese traditional clothing, with the belt and the sleeves, and well the shape of everything. Reese looks like a skater girl, Pyrrah's greek looking and I can admit that. Like, sure the names don't give that image, but like the designs work.

Yup I think so too, Qrow did say that there was a lot of variety there too so it makes sense for everyone's design to have variety as well ;)

Sachi the Cat ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ I was thinking more on cencepts of who they are persay. Reese's last name is Greek for Green, collectively being for her green hair. Arslan design doesn't seem japanese, it actually a bit more Turkish or Indian. The Full name though is Turkish While I have no disagreement that concept art of SSSN were based a bit more on the Kpop group. Atleast 2 of the 3 members that originated from Mistral were based on Greek and Roman.. Sage being based on a Thracian (Greek) Sage story character and Neptune of coarse is Neptune the Roman God. Also interesting note all three things Mistral is famous for is actually the same as Italy While I have kinda agree with Swarley, maybe the variety in culture could be a factor. (Maybe they are from Central or far East) Though it just my small gripe cause it just was a dominant culture that I found kinda not what I would have thought be dominant

I'm not sure it's actually the case that most people upped and left Mantle. I think it's just the case that the power shift between Mantle and Atlas meant that the Kingdom decided Atlas should be the capital.

With the idea coming out that Mistral has a lot of Asia culture influence, I do think the "Taiyang is from Mistral" potato is good.

I don't think Taiyang is from Mistral remember him Qrow Raven and Summer we're all on the same team together at Beacon but he could have moved to Vale before he started going to school and left Mistral almost like how Sun left Vacuo and moved to Mistral so I guess it's possible but I think the pictures are just a coincidence maybe foreshadowing showing us what Mistral may look like.

+Swarley Underhill There is also the name Taiyang Xiao Long, which has obvious Asian origins. And with Mistral being the kingdom where the Asian cultures in Remnant (as well as others) comes from, one can theorize that Taiyang or his family moved sometime in the past from Mistral to Vale.

Also on the map of remnant there is a red nation that was lost at some point in the past possibly during the great war .PS have not seen the first episode

The Reds were taken out by the Blues in the battle of Warsung Gultch lol But probably just a small settlement the got wiped out quickly or maybe even a former kingdom of Salem's.

Is the scale a bit off? Vale has a harbor and shown in the series as being a coastal city ( Roman's Map ). The Map in this series shows the city of Vale closer to the mountains than the coast. Also why are they called Kingdoms when they are not ruled by kings?

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO SWARLLEY UNDERHILL: I think it maybe smart to double check the chapters 4-5 days after release to see what animations details they improved, added or fixed. I am not quite sure if you already finished the review, but as of this comment they fixed a lot of small details with the first chapter and added a few others. Nora's outline got fixed, Salem's crystals are attached, the farm boy scene has amber lighting giving it a morning feel to it rather than the blue afternoon feeling, they added in a cobweb before RNJR came in, and there might be a few other details I'm missing. Maybe put in an addendum in the video or something.

4:12 I think your onto something there 8:39 Woe slow down there I'm not sure while Canada is great country I don't think its like atlas because, It looks like it lacks trees, And Atlas seems to have heavier military culture and looks lot more warmonger like than Canada that has an army mainly for defense

Also Mistral's continent seems to have a lot of bases from eastern culture and the Xiao Long name probably derives from there, proving this idea is most likely true.
