Ryan’s influences are from the 90s and early 00s. You see them in her visuals and sounds, but it never comes off as gimmicky. It’s almost like she’s paying homage to the time, and it sounds great!! ❤❤❤

I REALLY hope that she doesn't let the Aaliyah references get to her as making her feel like her content is not hers. INFLUENCE is there. Sevyn owns it and Ryan should too. Sevyn does her own thing and owns her influences. Nothing wrong with it. Aaliyah did with Janet and Sade and she dealt with comparisons too but now these days with comment sections....

wish we was back at the time when we didn’t compare/ take away from artists as much as we do now . Aayliah was Aayliah , Missy Was just Missy , Mya was Mya, & etc everyone had their own lane & it was respected . Yes influence plays apart & that’s with anything but i feel like nowadays days we can’t respect the lanes without mentioning or comparing other lanes. That takes away from the artist i feel specially when u can differentiate The REAL IT girls from The NON ones. She definitely is one of the IT’s & respectfully is in her own unique lane. Ryan’s sound is influenced by Ryan let’s just enjoy & respect that 💯💯💪🏾. if you as a listener can’t differentiate her with out comparing then work on your ears … glad i came across this 💜 💜 💜
