His fundamentals do look like an amateur, but they look way better than 2 years ago. He still has the power, speed and knowledge behind him too so by the time his fundamentals have caught up to the pro level, he will be a big problem to deal with (assuming his mental health holds up over the years).

Not "like" amateur but I get what you trying to say about his footwork. That's the consequence of having power, you get used to knocking people out within 4, 5 rounds, you start to think you don't need the fundamentals. That's the same idea that Max kellerman told about Nonito Donaire when he got punished by Nico Walters and not able to land his jab. Good that Derick saw that flaw in Ryan, if done right, you got a fundamentally sound ryan who can set up opportunity to land his left hook.

I assum3 that weak ass left hook worked for him during his entire amateur career and his early profesional career. But you need more than a weak ass hook if you stand to win in the highest levels. Ryan simply has nothing to do vs the elite of the 140 lbs

As a fan of boxing, I generally pay to watch all of these young guys fight. From what I've witnessed, in my opinion, Tank's high iq and ring generalship separates him from everyone else. I like Haney, but what concerns me about him is that he doesn't have the greatest footwork, which leads him to fight off balance at times. Not to mention the big elephant in the room, his lack of knockout power. He is 25 years old and hasn't had a win by knockout since 2019. Yes, Ryan may have his flaws ( for now). However, he has power and fast hands, which makes him a decent counter puncher, which, in my opinion, makes this fight closer than what people are making it out to be.
