I remember emailing him in my younger years, telling him how much I loved his sound and that I hoped to meet him some day. He actually replied to my email and he didn't just write a sentence - it was a good solid email! I was so thrilled. What a cool guy.

I grew up in Arizona, and followed around a few local bands, including Authority Zero. They landed Ryan Greene to produce their 2004 album ANDIAMO, and just blew their sound wide open. I was friends with the band for a number of years, and they said the same things about Ryan: super laid back, but incredibly knowledgeable, meticulous, razor sharp and would get the best out of a performance on every song. I met Ryan a few times, just because he'd come out to the same shows I went to, in support of bands he was working with. I was just a teenager, not even in any bands, but Ryan would recognize me and say hello and we'd chat for a bit. Super nice guy, always has time for everyone, and never showed an ounce of ego. Kickass video!

Never knew about this guy but I'm so glad he gave Smelly from NOFX and Dave from Lagwagon credit for being such good drummers. Only recently learned about RKL and how much of an influence those lunatics were on all of these guys. I think Bomer and Joey are the tightest rhythm section that ever existed. Also RIP Jason and Derrick.

great video! when I was 19 I noticed that all the albums I liked the most had Ryan Greene's name in the credits. I even bought some albums by bands I didn't even know when I saw their name in the album credits.

Thank you for putting this video together! It's kinda shocking how compelling the likely influence Countdown to Extinction was, as a fan of that Megadeth album as well as multiple albums Greene produced I can totally hear it; the bands made the music, but Greene really did help them create that sonic fingerprint.

As soon as I saw Ryan Greenes' name I clicked on the video because in the nineties if his name was on the records I was buying it. I'm a 46 year-old guy who was going to shows when all of those bands that you listed were in their Prime or just getting started 👍

@@farfromgregular1575 Right on! Super cool to hear from you! Yea, I started watching the video & thought you looked familiar. First thing that popped in my head when you said you were in a bunch of bands was if you were in High Five Drive. Sure enough! I remember talking with you guys, even let your drummer use my bass drum pedal. Bought a CD too, some songs still come on my iPod here and there. I haven’t been in original band in about 2 years. Been playing guitar in a punk cover band called Johnny & The Dick Pics for about 6 years now. Usually just play locally, but we’d like to take it further.
