GYPSY TALES PODCAST

Күн бұрын

Ryan Hughes is a man that really doesn't need an introduction. He is one of the all time greats in Motocross racing and into his 40's has managed to stay as relevant as ever through the content that he puts out around technique and general philosophy around racing. He is an amazing dude, and I'm so stoked we got to do this podcast.
This is also the first podcast in the US studio and signals a new era of Gypsy Tales!

I have seen all the clips from this pod, but today I put this on while working in my shop. Holy F-Balls. I have taken buckets full of messages about living life in the present, about working as one with my body, about philosophy, training, recovery, and about truly appreciating my environment. I was a motocross racing kid in the 90’s and Ryno was THE MAN in my world. I was at Broome Tioga for the national the weekend before he pushed his bike at Steel City. There was NO ONE tougher, more determined, or more bad ass than Ryno and there’s been nobody close since. Talk about an inspiration! Thank you so much for opening the door and banging the drum. I hope more people will wake up, consider possibilities, and expand that box of normalcy. Eloquent motherfuckers y’all are! Thank you again and please keep it going. How about an update on positive changes since this first aired? Like Marv winning a super cross sans Neck Brace!!! Braaaaahp! -Castor

I will definitely try to be less active on my phone and eat my food without having any other distractions. Try to feel everything and be myself. You’re not only the mx jesus, you’re a goddamn lifecoach mate! Thanks for sharing your knowledge sir. Cheers, Donny!

I’ve learned a lot from this interview. I love listening to Ryno and his advice. I broke 5 ribs riding my mountain bike on New Years Day. And, it happened because I was about as far away from the present as I could be. I was 100 feet from the end of my ride and all I was thinking about was sticking the last switchback and going home and having a beer. I’ll never let that happen again.

🤙🤙My son is 5yrs old. He’s been riding for 3 months. He’s on a Husqvarna tc 50. He rides about 2-3 times a week. He started out riding with a EVS neck brace. We wouldn’t allie him to ride with out it. As it just seemed like standard equipment for youngsters now days. ***He’s been having trouble with a tabletop at our track. Every time he seems to be getting bucked over the bars, landing extremely heavy on the nose every jump. Not abele to clear but half way. We’ve been concentrating on posture elbows up ass out ankles down. And he does great but still the bucking Bolger almost ever jump big or small. After I Watched this podcast with Ryan. I’m in awwww. 1st 3 laps with out the neck brace. It’s like he advanced his skills just by removing the brace he’s now clearing the double with relative ease with both tires touching same time more often than landing a lil nose heavy if not on both tires. Looking like a natural. Thanks Ryan 🤙🤙🤙

Great interview! Very refreshing to see. He has a very steep mountain to climb going up against the Safety Beast. That is what they are using to infiltrate every aspect of our society. As I haven't ridden for 30 some years as a kid, I didn't realize that that the safety thing had taken hold in MX too. Don't see how they do any of the things they do with all that crap on. Wish him the best in his battle.

NOTE TO RYAN, IF POSSIBLE? I have seen some of your videos about riding & body placement on the M/C but I have not ever been privy to EVERYTHING that you would tell someone that you are training but I would like to ask if you ""TEACH/TELL"" riders that the reason that their head needs to be over the steering pivot is because your head/face are always ""LOOKING/POINTING"" straight ""FORWARD/AHEAD"" & that is the exact same thing that the front wheel of the M/C is doing & the two ""CENTERS"" need to be ""ALIGNED"" & on the same PIVOT POINT. I tell newbies that the FRONT WHEEL is always pointed STRAIGHT AHEAD & that it PIVOTS left or right and that the REAR WHEEL STEERS or in effect, has to be made to ""COME ALONG & FOLLOW"" where the front wheel & head & face are pointed & thus, WANT TO GO.
