I can only speculate, but I'm pretty sure I have a good idea of what happened. Though I'm not sure anyone wants to hear about "conspiracy theories".....the short version is Brendon sold his soul in a devils contract, and Ryan didn't. Be happy Ryan left when he did. If I'm right (and Brendon's videos tell me that I am), Ryan made the right choice.

Ryan is the moon and Brendon is the sun. “ Hey, Moon. Please forget to fall down.” Brendon doesn’t want Ryan to ever leave. “Someone I love loves somebody else.” Ryan left because he wanted to make music that was more his style, but also he probably thought Brendon didn’t love him anymore. Also, Ryan used to always have the purple eye makeup and Brendon had the yellow. When the Day Met the Night, basically when Brendon met Ryan. And the song Golden Days, “I found a pile of polaroids in the crates of a record shop. They were sexy sexy looking back, from a night that time forgot.” Brendon and Ryan would take pictures together (there’s proof of polaroids of Ry and Bren), a record shop, Panic! obviously sold records. From a night that time forgot, it’s been so long since they’ve seen each other and they’re too sad to think about it. I’m not writing this to confirm Ryden or anything, I think it’s about their friendship. And now Ryan feels alone and here we have “Lonely Moonlight”. My heart hurts now... :(

What makes me sad it's the fact that patd will never be as cool as it use to be with ryan and spencer. And that without spencer and beebo ryan's songs are simply depressing... they used to complete each other in musical ways (forget the ryden thing for a sec, m8), and, once one is apart.... they can never be the same. Be as good as it was before! and don't you dare to say things like blanblabla doab is freat blablabla different paths and stuff... I like twtltrtd, doab and ryan's thing, it is simply not the same feeling...there's something beautiful and tragic in the fallout (yikes), they sound so emotional and depressed. even with eletronic vibes (patds new albums)

Miscommunication seems to be the issue between brendon and ryan. Have they listened to each other's music because if this song is about brendon and house of memories is about ryan then they both have mutual feelings.

I agree that miscommunicatio is an issue- but I don't think it's miscommunication through their music. I think they just haven't talked to each other in a while so all they hear about what the other has to say is through interviews. You can't restart your friendship if you're not communicating face- to- face or at least without an interviewer between you. A lot of fans are just so rabid and toxic, I can understand why they don't want to talk to each other.

I agree. If they stand in the same room, fans go rabid. It's honestly insane and kind of sick- the extent to which these "fans" take their shipping, I mean. These are real- life human beings with human emotions- and I'm sure that there were a lot of hurt feelings following the split. Having a friend decide to cut themselves out of your life is devastating, and people bring it up like it's nothing. Even when the members have said so many times that it makes them 'uncomfortable' when people bring up the 'milk fic' or Ryden, people do it anyway. Those aren't true fans. Those are parasites. Keep it on Wattpad and in the crackvids. Don't hound the real- life people. The thing is I ship Ryden so much and with all these fucking sun and moon analogies and fucking references I can't not entertain the possibility of Ryden actually being/having been a thing and Ryan being in love with Brendon still but at the same time I really fucking don't want these songs to be about Ryden because that would mean Ryan was unhappy and Ryden crashed and burned in a fiery ball of gas that wasn't enough to outshine Brendon so yeah fuck these melodramatic midnight ramblings I'm not even in the decade of emo seriously how long can a run on sentence truly be?

I found this and many of his other songs at the end of 2014/ beginning of 2015 and every time I hear this song I want to cry, not bc of "Ryden" but because you can actually hear the sadness in his voice. This song is truly beautiful and still one of my favorites today in 2016

I don't know if this is intentional, but I'll say it anyway: The music at the end of the song when it's overwhelming Ryan's voice is symbolic of how Brendon and Spencer weren't listening to him and started making their own music. I mean, it was RYAN'S band in the first place, but they kinda shut him out.

During my emo phase in 2016 I had to get my wisdom teeth removed. This song will forever remind me of that day. After returning from the doctor (still doped up ) I lied on my couch and blasted this as high as it would go on my tv and SOBBED. ah, good times .
