I think Ryan is so mature and intelligent. He isn't cancelling paco out of nowhere and that is so hard to do when he is such a close friend. What Paco did is not right . He apologized for his mistakes and he learned from it or I hope he did . He explained his point of view also . We all don't know what happened. Only those two people know what exactly went down that day. So I can't go on to say that Paco should be cancelled or Paco is a rapist . But that doesn't justify the things that he admitted to doing like sending dick pics and stuff . That is disgusting. But he admitted to it . He learned from it . Ryan totally understands the fact that everyone is normal. Everyone makes mistakes. We all need to learn that . Cancel culture is so toxic. The problem is we make jokes about this stuff to make fun of it bit don't realise we normalise this behaviour so a lot of men don't really understand what they do is wrong. The lines get blurry when you joke about seksual assault. I think most part chat/ the audience is responsible for it because they push this attitude forward and reward it. If you are a creepy on the Internet with certain thumbnails you get more views then if you won't.

They have a real life relationship behind the camera, we don't know about peoples lives behind the camera. "I think he's apologized for it but he needs to learn from it" is my favorite line from this. Accountability and making an apology mean something is super important. At the same time, the apology is a huge first step. There's a lot of grace and justice in what Ryan is saying and is probably the classiest way to handle the situation. . Paco is probably one of the wittiest guys in the community but as Ryan put it, none of this was okay. He'll have a following and a career to come back to if he learns, changes and makes the effort to reconcile with the people he hurt and the way his audience now sees him and knows what he's like.

Gonna be honest I never liked paco. I stopped watching a lot of rhpc content ever since he came in the picture and it sucks because I love Ryan so much. Good for Mariah for being brave and coming out with her story. And I’m glad Ryan has addressed it too

Ryan is one of the few youtubers that don’t get into drama and are mature

Had a friend who I found out had raped his so repeatedly throughout the five years they were in a relationship together only really found out towards the end. At first I was conflicted and I didnt know what to do, the guy had been my friend for so long it didn't seem right to drop him. I tried to stay being his friend and to tell him to do better, and to be better. Didn't really pan out for me, he wasn't willing to accept he was in the wrong and he always tried to justify his behavior and actions. At the end of everything I couldnt continue to be his friend, because he somehow thought he was in the right and wasn't willing to be better.

My last week of Netflix bingeing has left me completely unaware of the situation. I read the title and immediately got reminded of the DanPlan situation.

I'm not fully aware of the situation as this is the first I'm hearing of it but from what I'm gathering from the comments and his words, my thoughts on this statement is that even though it's understandable that he must feel torn up and conflicted about this situation a major issue that is too often ignored in these situations are once again the victims themselves there was a thread going around twitter a while ago which explained it perfectly and a point it conveyed was that in these situations people tend to focus on how or when to forgive the perpetrator and when they can be brought back into society rather than caring for the victims and making sure they feel safe and this is what I'm getting from Ryan's words here as he said himself it's something that occurred recently but he's still more focused on when paco can be "uncancelled" rather than any mention of if the victim is okay which again it's his friend but I think it just speaks to the larger societal issue of putting the perpetrator's life above the victim that basically their life shouldn't be ruined due to their "mistake" even though the victim's life probably already is and they're receiving no help, justice or compensation

Hearing paco's perspective, I definately recognize parts that are disturbing but like before I want to lock in my new perspective on him, I want to know what's true. It's hard in this world because instantly you have to pick a side without knowing the complete truth. Ryan is right in the middle. This is most definately stressful
