Prior to this incident, he had a rap sheet that was eleven pages (no exaggeration), everything from drug charges and car theft to menacing and assault. In this incident, he was convicted of 18 crimes, including 11 felonies.
@imaxdigital7052
@imaxdigital7052 4 ай бұрын
@@bauerj3398 That shouldn't have happened. The charges shouldn't have been stacked like that. Obviously, he put people at risk of great bodily injury and he needs to be held accountable. But 160 years for anything other than murder simply makes no sense. That's not justice. That's retribution.
@bauerj3398
@bauerj3398 4 ай бұрын
@@imaxdigital7052 Why the hell shouldn't it happen? You commit 18 crimes, you get charged for 18 crimes. Do you think if somebody goes out and shoots 5 people they should only charge him once because otherwise it is unfair to 'stack charges'. Blithering nonsense.
@imaxdigital7052
@imaxdigital7052 4 ай бұрын
@@bauerj3398 Well in that case you'd be charged with 5 counts of murder. That's not what stacking charges is. Stacking charges is when you get charged with multiple things that may have happened at the same time, or in commission of one another. Stacking charges is commonly used to convict people who have weak cases against them, in order to make them take a plea deal. It's extremely uncommon for someone to actually be convicted of all of charges stacked against them. In fact, judges will usually advise the DA's office to narrow the scope of the charges. The fact that didn't happen here says to me that the judge really wanted to put this guy in his place, and probably told the DA's office to pursue all charges. Again, this doesn't seem like justice, it's retribution.
@bauerj3398
@bauerj3398 4 ай бұрын
@@imaxdigital7052 Don't need your lecture. I know what 'stacked charges are'. In this instance, which of these 11 felonies are overlapping. Do you consider it 'stacked' and 'retribution' if this dipshit carjacks 3 different people and is charged for all 3? Because that is what happened. That accounts for 3 of the felonies. He had 11 felonies in this instance. I assume you know what those 11 felonies are already, and are not just talking out of your ass.

Child rapists, rapists and pedophiles should get 25 years minimum and then when they come out they should be put in containment areas. They should build tower block apartments away from schools etc where they can just stick em all in there with no internet access. Just imagine the amount of people who are out there scott free of their crimes because their victims are too afraid to speak up knowing they will be out in like 10 years.

This guy could have just had a bad trip on drugs, he freaks out-- doing something violent and dangerous but no casualties, and you still think a child rapist who premeditated the rape of a child, should get less than life and less than this guy freaking out?!! Call me crazy, but I think putting your dick in a child is way worse of a crime, and has a way worse impact on society in the long run, because its the kind of gift that keeps on giving, it alters a person's existence for the rest of their lives. Victims can become perpetrators, it can become a repeating cycle! Child molesters are the ones who should have the key thrown away, I have sympathy for them, but they are too dangerous to live with society.

@mikeschmidt4624

Ibrahimovic Bra It’s up to the judge to decide the sentence. There are many factors surrounding the sentencing, including motivation and more importantly, risk of repeated offenses. This suspect was a repeated felon while Don King, correct me if I’m wrong, was a first time offender more or less. The first homicide was ruled a justifiable homicide as Don King was allegedly being robbed by the victim. He was found guilty of the murder of the second person but was given a pardon by the governor, otherwise his sentence would have likely been much longer. Again, this may be an injustice, but there are different deciding factors that determine one’s sentence. This suspect did not have political influence, was a repeated felon, and had multiple other charges in addition to the tempt murder. I don’t know all of the facts but I do not believe Don King got what he deserved, but I do believe the man in this video did.

@@randomdude3578 Well, the difference is that this dude did all this stuff with intent, with the worst being that he purposefully struck and almost killed a police officer that was trying to put out a tire spike. The affluenza kid was hell irresponsible, but didn't purposefully set out to harm or kill anyone. In a nutshell, the judge takes the perpetrator's intent into account when deciding the sentence, though having deep pockets *can* make a difference... btw if it makes you feel better, the afflluenza kid broke his probation and is currently being held without bail.

People saying that his sentence was excessive, look up his record. This dude was a career criminal. This wasn’t his first crime, and if given a lenient sentence it wouldn’t have been his last. The fact that he didn’t mind putting all those people in danger...the police officer that was almost killed, the people whose cars he jacked, and all the individuals that were in danger when he was driving the opposite direction needed to see justice served. He has shown that he can not live peacefully in a society, therefore he doesn’t deserve to live in a society. Edit: Wow, my most voted comment so far. Thank you everyone for the replies. It’s okay to have different views on issues but at least we are keeping it somewhat civil. Besides what I mentioned above, let’s not forget the trauma that all the victims experienced and how their lives were affected on that day and for the rest of their lives. It’s hard not to justify an excessive life sentence especially with his lack of remorse. I agree with most of you all, murderers deserve much harsher sentences then they get. The same should be for rapists.

Did he kill someone?!?! I know murderers that got less time. I'm not trying to minimize his actions, but 160 years for someone who didn't commit cold blooded murder is a little crazy.

They showed no evidence of a 4 yr. old child, nor it's parents saying it happened. He got 90% of his time cause he hit a cop and pissed cops off. Cops likely made up the part about the child cause hey, who's gonna question it ?

ikr... as someone who isnt from america this sounds pretty bizzare for me. people murder others and get like 10-20 years. so only if they kill 8-16 people would they get 160 years. so seems to me in america killing 8-16 people is less severe than potentially killing others.

160 years is insanity. Murderers regularly get much less time. 20 years would have been appropriate. I suspect that being Caucasian earned him some extra time in the new world justice system.

160 hours is still 160 hours, aka around a week. 10 days if you count sleep and other stuff taking up time. It may be hell, but at least your life isn't over. To me, though I agree that the bastard deserves to be punished, a life sentence is worse then death by being drawn and quartered. America is the land of the free, and many value their freedom over their own life... so why are we so insistent on giving out ludicrous sentences that is slow, extended torture for ones remaining years, rather then just handing out a death sentence for anything over 70 years. It would be cheaper, more humane (snickers at humane capitol punishment), and less of a waste of time. But that's just me. I'd rather be stuffed into a barrel and swiss-ified by bullets, swords, and fire ants for 30 minutes then be imprisoned forever.
