Ryan Villopoto came to us with an idea where he would ride all four of Yamaha's full-size motocross bikes with the LITPro device, and use the data it provides to find out what the real difference is between riding the four machines. Grab yourself a December issue of the Transworld Motocross Magazine for the full story and LITPro information.

@@oj16oz I admit that the 250F would be a much better fit for me in general, but aside from my 2T biases, the cost of 4Ts is just astronomical. and now they're electric start and fuel injecting 2Ts, so those prices are going to sky rocket needlessly. lemme deal with my carburetor. keep your $600 headshot and locked mappings.

Im very curious to see the data. I grew up riding and racing 2 strokes since 1980. Over the years there have been alot of mag articles talking about whats faster. Whats more economical to run. 2 strokes rule vs 4 strokes rule arguments.... you know all that stuff. What it boils down to is... ride what you have funn on. Ride what you own and be happy. If your low on funds.... 2 strokes ABSOLUTELY. If your joe pro next the guy racer man with someones money buyin ur stuff.... 4 stroke all the WAY. It took me 38 years riding to realize whats important... being on DIRT! Handlebars in your hands... wheels under you on dirt... dont matter if its a z50 or a cr500 as long as your having fun.

You are absolutely right!! I rode a friend of mine 125 2 stroke and it was so fun I decided to go out and buy me a dirt bike myself but everybody around me told me for my size I needed a 250 instead of the 125 so I got the 250 now I have no more fun, I have to fight this bike it's too much power I can't enjoy it I should have gotten the 125.
@pierceb2105
@pierceb2105 5 жыл бұрын
@@anthonyminggia1105 as a learner, the 250f is a good starting point. Easier to ride, less throttle control required, less demanding on the body, but more cost to repair. Its a tough one if you are not experienced (assuming you aren't?). A 250 2T is a powerful bike to learn on, and not what id suggest.

Ernie Desjardins only one thing missing on your comparison over the years and ride what’s fun, what’s happening to the sport, the cost is hurting the growth, look at the numbers of bikes sold in the 70s/80s to now, to me that’s the test, look at what’s has always happened in off road over 50% is 2 stroke still even though everyone in the industry pushes the 4t. I have never had anything against 4t, but I do have an issue with fake rules, fake marketing.music totally ruined this vid, we didn’t get that shit either in the 80s, music was on MTV where it belonged.

@2fly1974 5 жыл бұрын
I hear you...the 2 strokes may be close in times but if one is faster than the other the manufacturer gets paid by winning and winning gets you sales. I've had both motors and it's definitely easier to keep the speed up on a 450 cause the power is always there
@pierceb2105
@pierceb2105 5 жыл бұрын
Even if they're closer than RV expected, you've got to remember that races aren't just one lap each. That extra second or half a second will be a 30-60sec gap at the end of the race. Plus, 2T's are more exhausting to ride, meaning lap times will slip towards the end of the race. I love 2T and have owned my fair share, but simply put, they're not as easy to ride fast, for long period of time.

Great idea to do, but here again what’s never talked about for a comparison is that you are comparing not 2t vs 4t! You are comparing 2019 technology developed over 14 years compared to the YZ 2 strokes which were developed in 2004 for 2005 model, so what if those years in development were equal, even RV says they’re very little difference in times speeds, it is weight, inertia, etc vs power to ground, always the ease of riding a 4t more throttle control with a 2 stroke, ride a Euro 300 2t TPI or Beta, GasGas, etc and find out how smooth they are, to me the throttle control or skills in MX have been degraded with the easy to ride aspect, twice the capacity and years of development and still little difference, where rules are even in Enduro GP look at the results of the 5 World Championship class’s in 2018, Youth 125, senior Youth, E1, E3, EGP all these class except the youngest class had 4t competing with 2t and all 5 of these class were won over the season by 2t, the only class won by 4t was E2 and guess what it’s a 4t class only, I mention this because all the bikes in this genre of racing have had same development over the years, even though different levels of development levels. Where true competition where rules are even, the stats don’t lie, this was the same in MX up until the 2006 season, most wins and most championships were still won on 2t against twice the cc 4t.
