Yes, causing a plane to turn around is a huge thing. Prison is appropriate. This plane turning around may also have caused a domino effect with other flights, as air traffic control must have to do a lot of juggling in these situations.

@@bfyrth Right... (a) I have a few friends who like to holiday in Benidorm. You'll need to explain to me what's wrong with that. (b) I've not been there myself, but I've flown to Alicante many times in order to visit Eastern Spain, which is a delightful part of the world. Alicante itself is a very nice city, plus you've got mountain villages, olive, lemon and orange groves, the fertile coastal plain (growing some of the best veg in Europe), an up-and-coming wine region, and delicious cuisine (great rice and pasta dishes, a local version of pizza, really good ice cream). Valencia City's an hour and a bit up the coast, with its cathedral, quiet lovely squares, huge covered food market and superb tapas places.

The friend comes to the rescue…..hopefully she saw this video that her friend potentially endangered quite a few people w/ this hitting and obnoxious behavior. If there isn't already, there should be a law which says that somebody responsible for diverting a plane like that shoudl be liable for ALL the expenses incurred by ALL of the passengers as well as the airline. If they can't pay, they should be put on a no-fly list for every airline there is, until ALL the debts are paid.

That law does exist. Anyone causing an interuption to a flight can be held responsible for ALL costs and losses. Problem is people like this don't usually have the money to pay. Jail? They are also usually people who would view jail as free room and board. The other thing is that if they go to jail, once the time is served, the fines and costs are deemed cleared. I would agree with you on lifetime No-Fly listing. That at least would make others start to think.

@@Michelle_Schu-blacka I know there are other ongoing added costs after diverting but if you do the simple maths... Say 200 Passengers at an average £50 per seat. Don't forget, the attraction of Ryanair is, flights are dirt cheap. That flight is operating and making a profit with a revenue of just £10,000. And Ryanair has some of the highest profits in the sky.

xDezlo that’s not true mate.... they do a 6 week intensive course with daily exams that require over 90% to be considered a pass and they’re only allowed to re sit one exam in the duration of their training. Students falling below that grade are sent home and are not allowed back onto a Ryanair training course. Credit where it’s due,dis the company all you want but Ryanair staff go through just as much training as every other airline. Well done to them.

I’ve seen so many airlines turn a blind eye to obviously drunk people getting on flights, I even went and spoke to a very senior member of staff once as the woman involved was a mum with two kids travelling alone, she was swearing and loud, staggering in the queue, the older child a young teenager was so embarrassed and telling his mum to be quiet my heart went out to him “she’s always like this the day we go home” Nothing was done, the woman passed out the whole 4hr flight and the kids were left to fend for themselves, shocking.

I know alcohol is almost always involved in these things but I don't think you can just blame that, some people have this behaviour in them and some don't. I always have a couple of drinks before a flight for my nerves, and I would never, ever be disruptive like this. Even when (in privacy!) Martin Mitchell as crew I can tell you that this just occurred after take off and crew are not to move from their jumpseat after takeoff unless safe to do so, for their own safety. After the aircraft was leveling they attended 👍✈️

There were 8 of us on a golf trip. We were excited as this was a vacation for all of us. We went straight to the bar and had a couple of beers to celebrate the start of a week of golf. The bar was almost across the terminal from our gate so we could keep an eye on our flight. When we went to board the stewardess said we heard about you guys. We just laughed as we were quiet as a church mouse when we sat down. It never occurred to us that we could have been refused boarding.

Unfortunately it's not ryanair (crew here). It's the airport. Because they are drunk or disruptive the airport staff just wants to get rid of them as fast as possible and they just put them on the plane and that's it. They washed their hand.

@@stuartrichens4832 honestly. That's the least of crew problem. An evacuation is highly unlikely in most cases. What we are worried about though is that they become aggressive, not only to crew but also to passangers. That's one of the worst case scenarios for drunk people. Best case we are at least 7-20 min to any diversion emergency landing and that's pushing it. If we only start descending the moment people become aggressive. We have at least 30 min of spare time until police can be at the scene. Which is plenty if you want to injure people and crew. In my opinion. If you're drunk. Stay home. Or sleep the whole flight. If you try to be an ass from the get go you will not fly.

Makes me almost relieved that Ryanair - for no given reason - changed our booked flights to Lanzarote in November. Had to cancel the entire trip and still waiting for the refund. At least we might have dodged something like this.

Everyone feels like they should act..say whatever thy feel anywhere without consideration for others..I would be so mad if I had to miss my next flight or trip altogether. Because of one lunatic....ugh

Actually, this is what happens when parents, or any adult with power and ‘authority’ over a child, with the false excuse of ‘discipline’, transforms their shared living space into a private dungeon, a children’s life into an extended torture session, uses them as their personal ‘play pet/toy’ and treats them like trash and favorite punching bag, while explaining that everything done to Him/Her is ‘their fault’, ‘deserved’ and ‘for their own good’. If you think that ‘discipline’ is to treat children like cattle in a meat-processing plant, then YOU ARE THE ANIMAL, and either you are a complete dimwit ignorant, a victim of abuse yourself, a child abuser, or more likely a combination of any/all of these.

This is what happens when airlines serve so much alcohol. Either ban alcohol completely or limit to one drink per so many hours. They know who they’ve served already; they write down drink orders on the plane. Breathylizer test pre boarding. Don’t let drunk ppl board. Then on board, either no alcohol or else 1 drink every so many hours. Alcohol does this.
