First day intro to the kayak, nice, OK, very helpful... but what was awesome is that on day 2, it was all about fishing, and the kayak just blended in and supported the process, without getting in the way!

Gotta respect the feel free lure. been running the previous version for about 8 years. I just upgraded to a native titan x w/ nk300, but I am keeping the feel free. Will be great for those days I do not want to lug the behemoth, or when a friend wants to join me. I didn't do the pedal drive. Instead I opted for the island hopper rear mount with a 45lb minn kota.

@@RyanRigged You will love it. I feel there is a place for everything. keep your pedal drive. I did the motor first and had to figure out the best battery for me. I started with a 35ah lithium, switched to a acid, but it to heavy, and weigh down the back, allowing water inside the hull from the foot control holes. I went to a 60 ah lithium but with my gear it is still to heavy, and I did not get the distance I wanted. Now I am back to a 35ah and just added pedal drive. This is the best option for me. It balances the weight better and I am no longer concerned about distance. I run the motor to get to my fishing areas and use the pedal to fish. unless your fly fishing, this in my opinion is a perfect balance for this kayak. You can run all day on a 35 ah as long as you keep your speed down. What battery are you planning on running with it? and are you doing foot controls?

Okay, so your video hits at the heart of my kayak questions because I also have a Hyundai Santa Cruz. How long is your kayak and how did you secure it in the back? I don't really want to use a trailer so seeing you put yours in the bed is giving me hope.

I rented that Santa Cruz and honestly wish I used a truck instead lol. I used 4 straps in total and lucky the roll cover for the tailgate helped hold the nose of the kayak in the car while I strapped it in. Adding plywood to the tailgate would have been safer but I drove over 300 miles like that without any issues. Just scarry af lol

Have you used this on any large bodies of water? Just curious how it did if you have. I am looking at this kayak or the 13.5 version, but will be using it for the huge lakes in Montana. Nice fish and cool video! Thanks for taking us along.

Thank you for your comment! It works well on big lakes. The only problem is dealing with boat traffic and jet skis. Very stable and easy to move but the bigger you go on kayaks the harder it is to turn them.

Adding a Rudder to your kayak will help a lot! They also make anchor rods so you can secure your kayak. Helps a lot with lighter kayaks

@@ILLUMINATHAN79 Oh by far a Feelfree is not the "best". In the kayak world the word "best" should be "best for you". For instance, my style of fishing, a Hobie is not "BEST". It's too big, too heavy, too wide.

Another ignorant comment by the drive by 🤡show. All boat/kayaks picking deals with compromises. Speed, maneuverability, storage/space, stability. You want speed and maneuverability you give up space and stability. You want space comfort and stability, you give up speed and maneuverability. Those rare ones that almost give you all are either cost an arm and a leg or the quality is total 💩show! Either offer more substance or keep quiet and not show your ass.🤡🤡🤡🤡

I think the feelfree lure is one if the best kayaks out there . I have had lots of kayaks including hobie . The feelfree lure was the one for me . I bought it in 2016 and sold most of the kayaks I had . No complaints with the lure . It paddles great , comfy adjustable seat and does great on rivers and still water . I stay comfortable in trips up to 10 hours . The best .
