Sophie is learning well. Lol. When you bleep out the words in the editing stage, is that for additional effect? Sometimes, you don't and keep the audio.

Amazing footage, Ryan saving a distressed vessel while at anchor in Nova Scotia. Extreme weather conditions cause dragging and Ryan took his Zodiac powered by an electric motor, braving foot seas, helping this disabled sailor secure his craft to a mooring. Epic episode as Sofia cooks a marvelous chicken diner during their transit to Boston. This is one you don't want to miss, pooping seagulls, pooping dog, throughout a tough passage back to the States. Can't wait for your next episode and thanks for sharing your adventures.

Wow thanks for the cooking tip Sophie- that chicken looked amazing. Nice job Ryan helping out that boater, under some intense conditions. Looking forward to seeing you guys sailing with the sun out and clear blue skies, it seems like forever since you’ve seen the sun!

Ryan & Sophie hello from (Calgary) Alberta Canada, 3000 miles from Halifax, same drive time west to Rocky Mountains as Denver Co. It was great having you really hope you enjoyed yourselves. I suspect for Ryan it feels good to be back on US soil even though it's not been his official home for quite some time.Best of luck rationalizing your work vs sailing priorities a very challenging conversation to be sure as both are full time commitments. Best wishes going forward.

I’m fairly certain that those birds excrete urine and poop through the same outbound orifice, just wanted you to know about their special knack in addition to commandeering freeloader status on the regular. So special their messes are.

Ryan, one of the things my wonderful guy has taught me is that you are, and will always be, clickbait for someone. As long as Sophie thinks that you're clickbait, that's all that matters. Stay awesome, you two! 😉💕

For anyone curious, that dinghy sailboat at 6:24 is called a 29er (smaller version of the Olympic class 49er). They're a two-person high performance dinghy sailboat with a planing hull that's more stable moving forward than if the boat is stationary. I used to race them and they're super fun/technical to sail but can be very tricky in a storm like this. Super cool to see!

Holy crap! I saw your boat down at the docks and thought that was you but wasn't sure so didn't say anything!!! Ships passing in the night! I'm living in Shelburne with my boat on the hard (the vagabond 47) I'll be launching in the spring and then touring around! I saw you down at the docks on the waterfront. I was by the Fisherman's memorial that day... Dam I should have said something. Here's to hoping we cross paths someday in the future I'd love to meet up. Good job making it through a tough storm in Shelburne!

I live in Nova Scotia and just recently sailed NS to Boston as it turns out, dodging fishing boats, lobster/crab pots and cruise ships all the way so I feel your pain. Sad you had to experience such wet weather during your visit to NS since it isn't 'usually' that wet here! Great to see sailors like you visit our home and share their experiences with others. Hope you enjoyed your stay and safe travels south.

I boarded the HMS Rose in Shelburne, years ago. She was in exhibition. Phil Bolger was her designer, and she played the part of HMS Surprise in "Master and Commander" movie. I lived in Boston, for a time. I ope that you enjoyed your visit there.

Gourmet meal while under sail nice, have you considered a gas outbound since the electric seems underpowered for rough seas or trying to push a boat that drags anchor?

Trying to tow or push a boat that is dragging in a storm is too much to ask of any dinghy 😅 No, we wouldn’t trade our electric outboard. We’ve had it for 6 years, and the benefits of it far outweigh its limitations :)

I set out in June of 2020 to sell the home, buy and RV, file for Social Security, and move from Maine to the Southwest of the USA and never see another snowflake. I think that the ocean insulates you from the sprawl of the rat race across the land masses of the world and for that I am jealous. The RR has become all consuming for so many and they do not see themselves as the frog in the slowly heating water. My SS is enough to "get by on" but not to get a bit ahead, so I worked as a host at a horse campground for the summer. As "young folk" it would indeed be hard to avoid some of the race without being in the trust fund category. Consider: If you realize that it is a rat race, you are far beyond most, at least you own your own hamster wheels, where as so many others toil away on the wheels of others, so those others do not have to be "in the rat race" themselves... ;) (ps.. your work is valued... you are living in a way I wish I could, so i live it through you and the others in the YT Sail club)

Seriously for $300 wouldn't the taxi go via the cashpoint? Also don't want to be that guy - but Ryan Put your life jacket on when you're in the dinghy!!! Swiming in all that foul weather gear would not be great. Hope you're not feeling seasick anymore! Very impressed with the cooking on a rolly boat! Seagul probably wanted a drink - no fresh water out at sea.... (Also the link to Sailing Aphrodite doesn't seem to have shown up.)

Storms??? Are you in your native Britany ? We are desperately trying to go back to the Channel snd weathered two named storms, Ciaran (which holds a store of absolute local records here for the wind speed), and Domingos which was significantly more benign, tucked in Quiberon. Hold on tight, with global warming this will become more and more frequent, sadly.
