It was so cathartic watching Cowherd's face during Russillo's Celtics take. The slander that Tatum and the Celtics get is unreal. What have SGA, Brunson, Mitchell, Booker, Embiid, or Jimmy Butler accomplished that Tatum hasn't? Those are just players that are the same age, or older than Tatum.

Right? Throw Luka in there too. And on the flip side, Tatum has done more than all of those guys. "But he's not a 1A". 🙄
@kennystar90756 ай бұрын
Exactly. Has Tatum been on good teams? Yes, but since he took over the Celtics and became the guy, it's really only been the last 3 years. Those ECF teams that lost to the Cavs in his earlier years were decent at best. 2022 was a disappointing loss to the Warriors, but Steph went nuclear and Tatum wasn't good. 2023 was a poor showing against the Heat. No excuses there, but you can't be a rationale fan and expect the Heat to shoot .434% from 3 and the Celtics .303% for a 7 game series again. That happened and one can argue if Tatum doesn't roll his ankle they complete the comeback from down 3-0. This year they have to take the step. If they're healthy and don't win then you can start really giving legit criticism.

The NBA becoming less relevant over time is largely mainstream sports media’s responsibility. Mainstream sports media does nothing to market the NBA during the NFL season. They’re too focused on short-term ratings and it provides no smooth transition to watching NBA. The NBA even put in a mid-season product and the mainstream media thought it was more important to talk about a Will Levis breakout game. The only coverage the in-season tournament got was all of mainstream media hating on the Lakers putting up a banner. How can mainstream media do nothing but hate on the NBA for 4 months then flip right after the Super Bowl and think people will care?

If you made a list of all the things the perfect QB would have or be able to do - you're describing Mahomes. Not only does he have every single quality you want a QB to have - he's the best in the league at them. He literally has no weaknesses. NONE. There is a point where the ability to run is a negative. Allen and Lamar rely on it too much and as a result will never be the pure passer Mahomes is. He's the perfect amount of mobility - he's the highest rated scrambler you can get - without being a runner.
