When Arcus said : '' Alright i'm satisfied with that '', we all knew something extraordinary was going to happen.

Arcus reminds me a lot of this great dentist I had for like 15 years. I should try inhaling nitrous oxide while watching Arcus speedruns and see what happens.

I'm so glad that I had this game as a kid. It was the only one at the time besides Legend of Zelda that really made me feel like I was in a real, living world, and going on a grand adventure in it. You wouldn't guess from such a straightforward looking run but it took a whole lot of trial, error, and exploration to figure out where you had to go, and it was so rewarding when you finally got to the next area. I especially loved seeing what new music and baddies there would be. There was a ton of variety in those ways at the time, and after seeing and hearing the same things for so long, it was a shot of adrenaline to finally see a Heavy Soldier Bargan or Kuzeelar.

Most underrated game on the NES imo. I rented this game multiple times before finally buying it and still enjoy the heck out of it today. Great soundtrack, awesome level and enemy design. Lots to explore while still feeling like a classic side scroller. Truly one of a kind (like Arkus)

It seems the developers just used a stock sound library for their sound effects. The big one that clued me into this is killing enemies sounds are the same as in the Ninja Garden games.

Yeah, both games were made by Tecmo. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if the exact same people who worked on Rygar worked on Ninja Gaiden.

Loved playing this game as a kid and then being frustrated because I had no idea what I was doing or how to get to the end. Would just explore going up and down on the towers with the grappling hook trying to find new areas that were not taking me anywhere! Some of glitches on Rygar were insane!

Call me crazy, but the first thing I thought when watching this speedrun is that the game's aesthetic and music is 100% influenced by ELP's album Tarkus.
